Me neither, I spent a little bit of time on Club Lexus contemplating a 2008 IS350, (See Signature) and they all seem to think it will be very very similar to the new GS in production now..
I'm not feeling the new GS front. Pretty much all the new design Lexus. Don't like how the bring the line on the grill inwards then run it back outward a on the bumper. Kinda like >=< except stretch the "=" sign vertically haha. Kinda hard to explain.

When i drove the 335i auto i thought i would be fine with it, but its boring and wouldn't care if it was 1sec faster. I would rather prefer a MT.

What you might call boring, I call relaxing. When I want to drive agressively, a stick is great, but when I do not want to drive agressively, I rather drive an auto. Since 90% of time, I do not drive aggressive, an auto is better suited for me.

Love the 3-series. Beats all others.....some by a slim margin....some by a boatload. While the overpriced Toyota - I mean Lexus - is a nice vehicle, it's not a BMW.

Quickest stock IS350 on dragtime is 13.228@105 while the quickest stock 335 (2007 coupe) is 13.230@104

The IS350 is definitely no slouch considering it is a 8 year old car.

Yes the IS350 is pretty quick, the N/A V6 is a great motor. Drove a couple at work. The 1/4 mile time might be a bit faster stock but thats where it stops, it will take too much money to get it any much faster. Where the 335i its much simpler just tune and exhaust and you are done, beauty of turbos.

the "spindle" grill design is HORRIBLE looking. reminds me of those children who have a facial cleft in africa.

the new IS could be the greatest thing since sliced bread but with that design i'd never get it. same with the bulbous angry bulldog look infiniti decided to go with (as well as their, we melted a bunch of plastic rest of car design).

problem with that is the GS platform is bigger and reinforced so it isn't exactly designed for a smaller car (And the IS is a much smaller car than the GS, try to sit in the back where you might as well not have legs).

its the same situation BMW ran into with the 5 series which mostly shares the 7 series platform. the platform is designed / reinforced in areas but built to be modular length. so the 5 series is really heavy to accomodate the size / weight of a 7.

IS / GS shared a platform last time and I remember reading this was why the IS was fairly heavy for a smaller car like it is. IF they do it again , im sure they will sell tons and it will still be a little heavy. but who cares every housewife and person who just wants a "reliable luxury sporty looking car" will buy one, so toyota probably won't give it a different platform.

I doubt they will use the BRZ platform since i'm somehow doubting that will take a bigger V6 engine and is probably designed for a flat 4 only
