No blowoff valve spot? That's pretty though. Will this throw any codes for those of use not running a tune with a code delete function? PM me the price.

I kinda agree with you. It's expensive but someone has to pay the price of development. Other companies will release their product on the market and she should see a price drop.

what about the other plastic charge air pipe from the turbo outlet to intercooler input? Seems a bit silly to upgrade one of them but not the other...

Probably cause that hardly fails?

Most, if not all cases i have heard is the charge pipe failing... in some other cars, this is known as the turbo inlet hose...

Haven't heard of it failing on the N20s yet... but mind you the N20 are pushing higher boost then the n55....

2 of my mates have theirs changed out during the introductory offer (like 4 months back before the official launch).

I just got mine ordered and it has arrived in my post office today!!

Well, your question wasn't clear tbh... I thought you were asking if it was 2 pipes instead of 1, which was the case... and not if there are 2 sets of pipes, one for the inlet side and one of the out...

AFAIK, there has been no failure on the other side....

http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=932876

and btw, you know who mike is??? definitely not some clueless vendor....

Maybe not on the N20 yet but have on many occasions on the N54 and N55. I would buy it just for the coolness factory to try to dress up the engine bay since it is very plain.

Ugh... I'm not talking about the turbo inlet!!

There are 2 charge pipes on the N20. The first is from the turbo OUTLET to the intercooler and the second is from the intercooler outlet to the throttle body.

The ER charge pipe only replaces the second pipe (from intercooler to the throttle body). The first charge pipe is under the exact same amount of pressure as the second, so it doesn't make any sense to me on why you would change one and not the other.

Probably because the pipe from the turbo to the intercooler is made of thick rubber to withstand the heat from the turbo. It's also a pretty straight hose so there probably isn't much to gain since it can't really be any thicker in diameter than it already is.

Now the pipe from the intercooler to the throttle body is made of some sort of molded/glued plastic material. It has bends and seams which are prone to fail over time with heat cycle expansion and contraction plus additional boost pressure.

But do we have some stories where it actually failed on N20 ? Engine is now 5 years old...
