Dipped beam Left Failure

Hi All,

Has anyone else come across the following fault on bmw 420d Gran Coupe.

Dipped Beam Left Failure.
Bulb is out but starts to flicker every now and again.

is this the sign of a blown bulb or another underlying issue elsewhere ?

what year GC? If the bulbs are original, I would start with replacements.
