From the manual:

Fold-out position of the wipers

Required when changing the wiper blades or under frosty conditions, for example.

1. Switch off the ignition.
2. Under frosty conditions, ensure that the wiper blades are not frozen onto the windshield.
3. Press the wiper lever up beyond the point of resistance and hold it for approx. 3 seconds, until the wiper remains in a nearly vertical position.

After the wipers are folded back down, the wiper system must be reactivated.

Fold the wipers back down

Before switching the ignition on, fold the wipers back down to the windshield; otherwise, the wipers may become damaged when they are switched on.◀

1. Switch on the ignition.
2. Press the wiper levers down. The wipers move to their resting position and are ready for operation.

Hey guys thanks for the Compass/mirror trick!!! Had the car 2 months and I never saw that, and this something I find very useful.

I feel like I just found a $100 bill in an old pair of pants! :-)

+1 This is why I visit Bimmerpost on a daily basis to learn about all the capabilities of our F30. Yeah, on one hand, the compass is not really something I rely on, but having it on in my rear view mirror just makes it look complete!

When I picked up my car from the dealer I found that one of the head restraints is in its lowest position covering the two steel bars. I raised it and try to lower it again to the original position (covering the steel bars) and it doesn't work. I brought the car back to the dealer and they can't find out why. They tried on another new car and found that the same thing happened.

did you press the button on the side of the head restraint while lowering?

I tried, but it only controls the tilting angle of the head restraint and not the height.

There are two buttons, one on the side of the headrest itself which controls tilt and then one near the base of the metal column that allows it to go all the way down.

I've found that turning down the brightness on the top view cameras you can actually see the road and curbs better. the factory setting is so bright it kind of whites things out.

Also found on the manual tranny there is a "hill brake". If you come to a stop, press the clutch, put it in 1st gear when you let your foot off the brake it holds the brake on for 2 seconds to keep you from rolling backwards.

I know the bottom which controls the up and down movement of the head restraint. The problem is it won't allow me to lowering it all the way so that the two bars are covered up. I have the dealer check on it and they can't lower it all the way either, and the same problem happened to another new F30 he checked.

I thought this thread was for finding cool features, neat trick etc? Isn't there a dedicated headrest thread? I thought I saw one

Could it be that this is by design? Mine isn't doing this either on both headrests but I also don't believe I saw any of them do this in the dealership. There's about an inch left over.
