There is without a doubt more room in the F10 no matter where you measure it and i'm talking about more than 3cm. The exterior bulk of the F10 just translates to more interior space. Like someone else as mentioned already the difference is more significant in person than on paper. As for the interior quality it was no contest to me either so i'm not sure if you are comparing a bare bones f10 against a full decked out f30 in your comparison. Its all the little details that gives the overall refinement in a cars interior and the F10 is in its own league.

To be honest I think the interior quality and design is better in my well optioned E90 Msport than any F30 i've seen so far. It just looks/feels way more plasticy to me. When i get into a F30 i feel like i downgraded alittle or maybe a lateral move at best in terms of luxury feel. When i get into a F10 i feel like i just went up to an executive level automobile.

You can't really compare these two cars though. There is no wrong choice and they are designed to fit different needs.

F30 for Sport/handling
F10 for Luxury/space

Just my observation

Alan
+1 really could not agree with you more. I was surprised at just how much more spacious and luxurious the F10 was in comparison to the F30. One big step back is the the plastic inside the new F30 (especially on the dash) is very shiny and feels very cheap. I need a 4 door sedan in the winter and I have been going back and forth on the 335MT or an M5MT. Yes big difference in cars but the only reason I am stuck between these 2 is the fact that BMW Canada does not import 6MT for the 535 or 550 anymore - crappy!

I am going to go by the dealership and just go between the 2 a few times to see if I can get comfortable in an F30 because I really don't feel like paying double for a 550HP of which I will never get to use on the streets of Toronto.

It is not so much the space, but the way the tunnel is shaped and the way the middle seat is shaped. Makes the sitting position a bit awkward.

The F30 is not bigger than the F10.
Just checking if there is a point in getting a F10 vs F30 (F35) for passengers. Both are plenty big for normal usage, unless my kid grows up to NBA size the legroom in the 5LWB is a complete waste.

Nor in the US, I think.

DrivenbyE30..... I'm a little confused, what is this on your F30?

.... is it a German market thing that doesn't appear on UK cars? My ZED has parking lights in about the same place, but not my F30.

IMO, F30 front looks much better than the F10. F10 front looks kinda ugly. But the rear light, F10's taillight is sooo nice. F30's rear light is pretty good but still cant beat the F10.

But if both cars are placed on the same price without lines (such as which series is higher or more expensive). I'd pick the F30.

F30 is considerably smaller inside. Feels cramp and narrow. There is a refined feeling in F11.Luxorious. But the smaller car is more fun to drive. And more noisy. Roadnoise and windnoise. F11 is calming. Have one of each is the best way LOL.

A better comparison would have been an F10 M Sport vs an F30 M Sport which look much better.

Originally, I was going to buy an F10 because of the size but I just hated all of the colors it comes in. If it had come in Montego Blue, Hellrot Red, Laguna Seca Blue, Sienna Red, Estoril Blue, Interlagos Blue or some other interesting color I would have bought the F10.

Instead, I ordered the F30 in EB2 and the sizes are quite comparible, especially the rear seat room. The cars have the same engines and the F30 is lighter and the color was why I am buying the F30.

When the F10 comes in a better color, I will buy it but for now I will enjoy the F30.

It's funny. I felt the f30 actually had more legroom when I sat in the back when deciding between the f10 and f30. Both drivers seats in my normal driving position.
