No springs?
Odd. Maybe this kit is designed to be an upgrade for the sport/Msport, which come with stiffer springs.
This kit can't be optimized for best handling using the soft base springs, at least I wouldn't think so.
Without the proper firmer springs you're going to get over damped and undersprung. WTF?

i talked to evan at tischer BMW, he told me a few weeks ago the kit is not officially complete because the M performance springs are not available yet. they will have it up when they are available, assuming those springs are not ready for market yet

Exactly. Keep in mind Sportline doesn't come with sport suspension by default in Canada. I'm trying to get clarity from them. Total Fustercluck!

no springs on the struts

that's all that is in the kit. I've also verified with my friend who works for BMW Corporate that springs are not listed in the parts. He's verifying further tomorrow as well.

I would triple check with your dealer. have him send you pics of the box. I'm not sure springs would even fit in the box the way the struts are packed together.
yup, just checked, no springs. LOVELY...they discovered this, mind you, after they saw the email I sent last night once I saw your post...but had already disassembled the suspension.

I told them there is no way in hell I'm paying for SPRINGS in addition to the struts...it's sold as a "kit" and should be listed as so. It was false advertising even from the brochure.

Just checked the brochure:

With the M Performance chassis, your BMW  Series
experience becomes even more unique. The shock
absorbers, wishbones and stabilisers
have been
extensively tested and coordinated using strict
motorsport criteria. The result is even more dynamic
driving that will amaze on every straight and every
corner.

SO, it seems as if we might be wrong...unsure how this will resolve itself, but I guess I'll let them sort it out at this juncture.

The old system (E9x) was sold like that too if I'm not mistaken. You could re-use your sport springs or get the M Performance Springs if you wanted it a bit lower. Maybe it is the same thing on the F3x.

interesting...they don't sell the springs in the catalog though, that's what's odd, they picture red springs with struts together, so I'm going to see what comes of it...a bit disappointed. AND confused, how can struts, unless they are REALLY short, drop the height?!

Looks like version 1 for the E90.
Everything except springs in the first release then too. Springs only needed for the drop. You just used the sport springs otherwise.

But it is really strange if BMW doesn't know this?!

EXACTLY!

I ordered this from the parts department, not like I went on my own, and they said it was a complete kit. They'll have to eat it.

ON TOP of that, they ordered the 328i from ARB, not the M Sport, so that's going to take another 2 weeks to come from there...what a royal cluster f#$%.

That really sucks... so, with the standard Sport springs, is the car going to be any lower?

I'm still trying to figure out my situation too. I'm considering returning the whole thing...

If your car does not get lowered with this kit, then what's the point?

What a mess guys, wish you get it sorted ASAP.

I just dropped the F30 off, verified with the parts guy and the SA, I paid $1393 for all parts, here's the breakdown:
33-50-2-320-981 SUSP KIT - $1115.00 (lowest I could get them, compared to BMW partspro, which was my negotiator tool!)
33-55-6-853-47 STAB - $121.46
31-35-6-792-125 STAB - $157.36 (I guess I remembered incorrectly with the prices here).

Those are the part #'s from the catalog, verify with your parts guy...and if you paid substantially less than me, than, maybe they separated out the kit? If you paid about what I paid, then I'm flippin' confused, because BOTH the parts guy AND the SA verified the Springs are on the Struts.

(unless they lied to me...) I'll find out, because the springs are red or yellow, right?

Shiv
OK here's the update.

BMW f'ed up royally...here's the breakdown:
1. Part numbers on sway bars are wrong on the brochure, online, everywhere. So DON'T USE THE ARB Part's listed above.
2. The "Kit" is indeed misrepresented not only to the part's department here, but customers --> Springs are an additional $600-800, which makes this suspension "kit" a misnomer for sure, and rather pointless to install without springs. WHY WOULDn'T IT BE A WHOLE KIT BMW?!?!?!? Bad first customer experience.

My SA has been awesome and has reached out to the local rep, since the dealership tore apart the car before they did a part check to only find out the ARB is wrong, and the springs were missing. Hoping the local rep will make it right for the customer, the tech, and the dealership...hoping it get's comped for my inconvenience.

PITA being the forum guinea pig.

So in theory... You can just order the m performance springs on the stock system for another $600-$800?

in theory, if you have an M Sport, yes, you can order the Springs...I'll try to get a part number today, depending on how items shake out with Rep/Parts Person/SA.

In my case, the struts on the base are too bouncy so the valve rate wouldn't jive well with the, I'm assuming, progressive spring rate of the M Perf line..

Man this is confusing. So what do you need for the msport 335i to add the m performance suspension. Everything in the kit you currently have and use the springs already in use or is there a different spring that completes the m performance suspension kit? And, is if the second is the case, where are the springs?

Thanks
