Anyway, 4"7 for stock 335i is a joke according to me! BMW claims (for 0-62) 4"8 for 435i w/MPPK and 5"1 for 435i stock (both with 8AT). Those are the most reliable results. What I got with mine is very close to the claimed acceleration.

Good point...tires make a big difference 0 to 60. The small the tire or the lighter the tire will make the difference. The smaller tire has lower rotational diameter thus acceleration will the slightly improved but with lower grip potential...lighter tire has lower rotational mass which also contributes to faster acceleration times. 18 inch rims which are lighter than 20 inch rims will have an edge. Then there is rolling resistance...the type of tire will add more resistance such as a winter tire vs a slick. Winter tires have deeper ridges which add rolling resistance...this extra grip adds resistance... So In a nutshell, a light 18 inch summer tire will have a relative significant advantage over a 20 inch heavier tire with winter or all seasons. Where a smaller tire has a negative affect is in the trap speed. A taller tire benefits the trap speed and generally with strong momentum or velocity (ie HP), the 1/4 mile... Most racers don't care about 0 to 60 thus why the larger tires on race cars.

MPPK Port Installation Price
I'm trying to get some clarity from those of you who have had the MPPK port installed. Some on this thread have suggested there was no installation cost involved, but not sure what total price you guys have paid. In my dealings with BMW USA, they are saying the price is $1,730.00 to install it at the port on the 2015 435xi which is currently being built. My dealer can do it for less, so wondering if the port install price is variable/negotiable - again this price is coming from BMW NA, not from my dealer (i have been copied in on emails between them).
Doesn't seem logical to pay more to have it port installed unless i am missing something. And i assume those of you who had it port installed, that price included any necessary coding. Thanks for your feedback Ron |

I have no idea on Port / Dealer install costs are, but you can easily install it yourself with E-Sys, and not pay anything.

Port install usually end up cheaper than getting the parts separately + dealer install. Plus I would trust the port ppl a lot more, they're elite and act as an extension of the factory.

Was used Jb stage1 for a mounth and now installed MPPK. Bought it in US and paid just 80$ local dealer for instalation.
I can say that Jb stage1 feel much faster than MPPK. |

I'd say it is somewhat advanced compared to normal coding, but still easy.
With E-Sys, you just need to add HO-Wort "NPOW" to FA, Import and Activate the 4E FSC Code in DME, and then flash DME Control Unit.

The parts installation looks easy so i just may end up doing that myself. While i have done coding before, i think for this, there seems to be some likelihood that it may not go perfectly, and for what I am spending on the car and this option, i don't want to hear any nonsense from BMW if something doesn't go right....so i will leave that to the dealer.
...so anyone get this port installed?? |

BMW is being turned in. I know I had a lot of questions about the M Performance Floor Mats. PM me an offer (less shipping) with your zip code if you're interested and I'll get you a shipping quote.

Port installed the 335hp MPPK. Dealer honored Tischers price & there was no charge for the install. Bought the MPE from Tischers & installed it myself, 20 minute job.

MPPK makes quite a difference
Just tried it on my brand new winter 18 inches, just painted black. 1 degree C, slightly moist, and very soft feel versus my summers. Time? 5.1. One thing I am sure, the winters are quite slower than the summers, but had not tried it with those for one simple reason: took me a while to figure out the Laptimer App existed!!!
Am sure I can drop below 4.5 with the 20 inches. The Pirelli Sottozeroes are too mushy in winter just above freezing, 5.1 seconds, No Launch Control, TC still on, blows my mind. Below -4 the winters become better. Last edited by Musashi; 01-04-2015 at 12:22 PM.. |
