also besides the obvious that everyone has pointed out,
the part of the tail lights on the trunk lid look huge the side mirrors look way more sleek than the e90 and i would like to see a shot of the rear of the m-sport, the diffusor could make or break the back end one last thing... cant wait for those huge amber reflectors on the US version |

I just can't seem to like this. From the stupid headlights/grilles to the weird slope on the hood (not to mention the line across the front of it) the whole front end just looks horrible .
The interior looks just as bad. The out of place nav screen to the sloping dash on the passenger side. The only good things I see are the steering wheel and the back end.

Too bad ...
All looks good but i always hated the pop up nav screen on other cars so this makes this 3-series a non-starter. Maybe will go with a 5-series or an E92/93

Unfortunately the front looks like the rendering, lol
I saw a rendering about 6 months ago, and thought "whoever did this rendering must be smoking something, they can´t leave that opening of the hood all that amount to the back of the kidneys"...and the final one looks exactly like that rendering I saw.... Not really sure I like that HUGE overhang in front of the front wheels, maybe I will need time to adjust to it...seems like they want to evoke the old days of sharknosed BMW´s. Either way, I love the rest, the back is not that different from a facelifted E90, and anyway I am sure I will be drooling for a 2013 (used one) in 2015...ok, maybe I won´t be able to wait, let us say 2014...
Damn, it seems like the unveiling of this F30 was a soap opera, so many people waiting to see how it would look... |

The front end dives way too low. The kidneys should be a bit taller. The squinted look gives it a timid appearance. The whole front should be lifted slightly and pulled back, I think.

Honestly my first impression was wow!
Then reality kicked in and I started to notice little things I don't like about it. Like the Z4 front end. That line across the front of the bonet would bug me to death. Is this evolutionary or just a facelift. BMW, why can't you be more adventurous? I may well have to save a little extra and go for the M5 which is definitely evolutionary (if a little out of my price bracket!). Will have to wait and see what it looks like in the flesh. My experience is the car always looks better in real. |

Can't say I'm wild about the headlights, taillights and hood. But I'll reserve judgement until I see it in real life.

Wow, super ugly. So happy I have an e90... The front looks like an evo and the rear looks like a g37, fuck that. Not to mention the rear is a mini 5 series. Aweful job BMW...

LOL!!! this is the first 4 door 3er I like... front looks really aggressive finally. I agree on the rear end, should have had its own personality.

I am a BMW fan-boy and have owned many BMW models, (both standard and M), and something about this overall design (exterior and interior) just doesn't look right.
The front end is not properly balanced, and the lower fascia positioning plus the inter-connection between the headlamps and the kidney grills gives the impression that the bonnet was unevenly pressed down at the front. I think much of this is caused by the higher lines that are present on the hoods, and due the fact that the side panels and rear of the car have a very similar form to the current E90 sedans. I also feel like there is too much homoginzation going on between the different size/families of BMW's. There are many design remenants from the new 5 series found in this car. The interior is just a cluster-**** of issues. The only interior photo I have seen that looks even remotely decent is the beige/bamboo wood interior. There is very nice, and subtle black/beige/brown contrasts there. On the other interiors, especially the M-sport edition, the black/blue/grey/silver contrasts between seats, dash, dash accent lines, and components do the opposite of what should be visually pleasing, they draw your attention to the fact that there are too many asymmetrical lines happening on the interior, and it leaves one with the impression that different sections of the dash were designed in committee, without seeing the rest! Even some of the materials used and texturing seems inappropriate for our precious BMW-brand. I, like many other buyers, tend to form opinions on cars visually. I fear this is one car that may not illicit the same emotional response as BMW has enjoyed in the past. |

A refreshing sight
Ah, I love this picture, brings memories of my first car, a 1989 316i with no AC, no power steering, no electric windows, no ABS, no DSC, ASC, no nothing... hot to be in on warm days but fun to drive, reliable and still looking good today. If I had money to spare, would love an E30 for the weekends...

Don't really like anything about the front, especially the headlights. I was hoping it would look more like the 5 series or some of the better looking renders in the magazines. Seeing this makes me very pleased to own an E90 LCI.
