Service in East Midlands

My car (435D) is due a service, it's almost 4 years old and has done 29000 miles. I believe that Engine oil service with micro filter, air filter and fuel filter, Standard scope, will be £390.80 inc VAT (quote from main dealer - Sytner BMW Leicester).
Does anyone know what 'standard scope' means? I have an extended BMW warranty until May 2018 which I might look to extend so I'd like to retain this option but this price seems quite expensive. Can I use and independent for the service and keep the warranty option open to me? Can anyone recommend a good indy in the East Mids?

If it'll be hitting 4 years old by the date of the service, then you qualify for 'value servicing' pricing, which is considerably cheaper.

BMW website will help you out.

Thanks for the reply, car is saying service due in December but not 4 years old until January 2018. I guess I can leave it until January to save a bit on the service?

I used Charriots car specialist in kettering, i'm told its in the same group as Coopers BMW, plus you get to have a mooch round some nice cars and its the only car dealer i've seen with a biplane hanging from the ceiling!

I was quoted £530 for the third service from BMW, Charriots charged £280 for the same service, that included them collecting the car from a 15 mile radius, if you want.

Had a look round very tidy V12 Vantage in the showroom plus a very old lotus, but that's behind a red rope barrier and they don't advertise the price, so guessing its a big number!

If you have an extended warrenty, i beleive you have 1000 mile/ 1 month past due to maintain it?

Just tried Chariots and they have quoted £270 for the service so thanks for the tip. They have confirmed that they use genuine parts and will be able to update the bmw system so my warranty is not affected.

Went to Chariots today, great service at a good price. There is some really interesting stuff in the showroom, cars, planes, jukeboxes and all sorts of unusual things! I'll be going back for future work.
