When sport mode + S transmission together

I cannot tell any character changes when shifting in the subject matter. I thought the transmission will get more aggressive when both driving and transmission are in sports.

Another question, both the horse and torque release its full potentials only when sport mode is selected right?

With both sport mode and transmission in sport setting, it will shift more aggressively compared to one or other. It might not be that noticeable, as just sport mode shifts fairly aggressively as is. Try this..... put car into sport mode and just drive around, when coming to a stop sign or light, slap the tranny into sport mode and the car should downshift even more aggressively. Personally, I like to drive with tranny in sport mode, but car in Comfort.

Sport mode does not affect the HP or Torque outputs of the car. Whether you are in Comfort or Sport mode, flooring the car should give you same power output. Sport mode might feel faster as it sharpens the throttle response and alters DME logic, but the power output does not change.

Makes a difference for sure. Drive in comfort shifter to the left. Put in sport, you will see the RPM's go up as it uses a different gear. then put shifter to left and you will see the RPM's go up even more. This is what my car does. I like all the different modes depending on my mood, even ECO with shifter to the left as it gives a cool exhaust note with my DP.

a poster in another thread put this up

I have a '17 340i MPPSK and it is accurate. My previous car (320i) behaved almost the same, except Hold At Redline was always disabled (it would always upshift).

Your car might be different but it's probably mostly the same

Chart is good except as outlined below. If you don't feel any change in the transmission harshness or shift timing you have a problem with the system or you are driving very very gently.

Regardless it should be easy to feel rolling to a stop when it does auto downshifts.

Did a brief comparison today, here's how I feel:

1. Sport shift: RPM will be kept much higher no matter what driving mode is, also higher than in sport mode but D shift.
2. Sport mode + D: RPM is high than Comfort, but not as high as sport shift.

So RPM seems to be clearly the key difference. However another very obvious difference to me is that, Sport mode gives a much better boost in power, i.e. even at same RPM Sport mode gives me much more power (at least that's how I feel) compared to Sport shift.

When I drive in Comfort + Sport shift, RPM is much higher than normal however the power boost wasn't really that significant.

Also worth noting in Sport shift it seems the highest gear is limited to 6th. Not sure if I was not driving fast enough, but at 70mph it still shows as S6. I also compared at the same speed, Sport mode alone will be at 2k RPM with very gentle throttle whereas sport shift will be at 2.5k RPM.

One thing I like about using Sport shift is that it tells me what gear I'm in.
