BMW 335i M Performance Power Kit (PPK) Dynos at 336 bhp / 377 lb-ft
BIMMERPOST NEWS BMW 335i M Performance Power Kit (PPK) Dynos at 336 bhp / 377 lb-ft Yesterday, we brought you news of the availability of the F30 335i M Performance Power Kit (PPK) [full details]. The PPK increases the 335i's horsepower from 300 to 320hp (official factory quoted figures) on all models. Automatic transmission models will experience a +32 lb-ft peak torque increase (to 332 lb-ft), while manual transmission-equipped models benefit from a +17 lb-ft peak torque increase (to 317 lb-ft). 0-60mph acceleration is improved 0.2 seconds compared to standard 335i models, while 50-75mph times drop by a full half-second. Well, these figures are conservative, as they often are from BMW. The following video shows the E90 335i N55 PPK (also factory quoted at 320hp 332 lb-ft) producing 336 bhp / 377 lb-ft torque on the dyno (performed by Dinan and at a 15% drivetrain loss). See the full details of the F30 335i PPK at: http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=820511 |

I think I saw the M exhaust, that might be worth 5whp.

Decent numbers for a factory BMW tune. I've never had an oem tune and exhaust before. It will be nice to have that peace of mind for a change. Knowing its engineered right. I'll prob still get another tune in the future lol. I just had to try this.

so this is 50 more HP and TQ from Stock? Assuming stock HP is at the 270-278 range. Wow is this is really the case, this is putting out as much or more HP as BMS stage 1.

Same thing. This E90 PPK kit was for the N55 engine and had the same factory quoted numbers as the F30 PPK. So you can expect the same actual world dyno numbers.

Yes, that's why BMW released it on the heels of the F30 PPK announcement.

This is looking great. Definitely doing this.
Would love to see more pics of that E90. Looks like they turned it into the E90 335iS that was never born... which is sweet.

Very nice. Not so disappointing like we all thought. I heard that they won't install it unless you have an M sport model. Is this true? Is it is its a big letdown for us sport and luxury folks

Always fun to quote crank numbers when most of the mod community looks at wheel numbers, as dyno's actually spit out.
"Well, these figures are conservative, as they often are from BMW. The following video shows the E90 335i N55 PPK (also factory quoted at 320hp 332 lb-ft) producing 336 bhp / 377 lb-ft torque on the dyno (performed by Dinan and at a 15% drivetrain loss)." Just as a comparison with what BMS posts for stage 1 dynos (I took the lowest numbers btw) Stock car: 278whp/292wtq 328bhp/344btq (figuring approx 15% loss like the post above does which we don't know to even be accurate) - Looks like the +20 hp/ + 32 tq numbers are close, but more like +8hp/+33tq. Right on with the torque but 'overrating' the gains of hp. The car is so underrated at factory power the ppk power shown out of context look ridiculously high, but compare them to actual baselines and they're more realistic. JB4 Stage 1: 307whp/340rtq 350bhp/400tq Last edited by tdizzle; 03-27-2013 at 11:50 AM.. |

Wow pretty impressive numbers, complete with BMW warranty for $1,000 and less possible hit on future resale value than putting on a non BMW addition or modification If BMW has 0 to 60 in 4.8 for the 335Xdrive, the traction and extra power must drop the Xdrive down to the 4.5 second range........

I wouldn't say MUCH less powerful. More like the difference between the PPK and the JB4 stage 1 would feel like the difference between the PPK and the stock tune. Something like a factory stage 2 (if something like that existed) would be a jb4 stage 1
