The F30 335i's ZF 6 speed (GS6-45BZ) is essentially the same as the one in the 1 series M, and F80 M3. For reference, the F30 328 gets a lower end Getrag transmission. Seeing some other folks reporting the same problem as the OP is curious as if the M3 can push all its power through this tranny the 335i should seem to be no problem.

My Getrag has been flawless, except I had an issue where it was popping out of 2nd gear during downshifts which started immediately after I had AFE catback exhaust installed. As I was driving it back from the exhaust shop, my first shift into 2nd was a grind and pop back into neutral. A week later I put the stock exhaust back on and the issue immediately disappeared. It still makes absolutely no sense to me why the two would coincide.

That's pretty ignorant. What is this based on? Is it because you "had one with tons of problems"? Or is it because you friends "know tons of Audis with problems"?

Actually, doesn't almost every car review compare BMWs with Audis constantly? Why is the S4 always compared with the 335i? Maybe it's because they are both very similar cars, with the numbers neck-and-neck.

Why are so many BMWs here having problems like Limp modes, rattles and creaking, transmission failures, camera malfunctions, wind noise problems, restraint problems, etc.? Is it because they are garbage? In fact, have you read how many threads are on these forums about the F30 having quality issues?

There are tons of BMW drivers that have previously owned Audis and loved them, or considered it before purchase.

Also, I'm pretty sure I had a 2010 Audi A6 3.0T with no problems, then I traded it in at 65,000 miles. Based on your logic, with this single case scenario, your BMW must be worse than garbage because my Audi lasted longer without problems.
