Sorry for the delay but I wanted to give it some time to prevent any placebo effect. So here is my official review....

PROS: Fairly inexpensive, easy to install, app is easy to use

CONS: I don't know if I have a defective unit but my butt dyno doesn't feel any difference and I think I would with a +30 hp and +40 tq. Additionally, since I've been running the Sport I've noticed a bit of a hesitation on acceleration after a cold start. Doesn't seem to happen after the engine is warm so I don't know if running the Sport+ is the culprit. I'm going to remove the Sport over the weekend and see if the issue goes away.

I did do some data logging on a stop and go traffic commute home for the hell of it. I've posted the graphs below. One thing I noticed is after hard acceleration a/f ratio can get close to 30. I'm a bit of a noob, but think this may be an issue. If you look at the graph, as boost builds and thus intake manifold pressure, mass air flow rate and vehicle speed the a/f spikes shortly after. It's almost as if the DME is not quite fast enough to compensate for the extra boost and extra air resulting in a lean mixture. The way I understand the Sport works is by tricking the DME into thinking it is running 3 psi less boost so it compensates by adding boost then a/f goes wack and it has to compensate for that. A/F normalizes around 14.5 but the data shows spikes close to 30. I want to take some time over the weekend to do some data logging in spirited driving conditions on some canyon roads to get some good data in Sport+, Sport, normal and valet mode then compare it to a stock (remove the Sport) baseline. See the graphs below. X-axis is in seconds. Data logging via LELink BLE OBD-II OBD2 Car Diagnostic Tool and OBD Fusion App on iPhone.

Best test for my point of view are :

0-120mph -> STOCK
0-120mph -> +3psi

Same road, same day. Just wait 1 or 2 mile in order to do an adaptation.

Sorry guys but I didn't get to do any data logging this weekend. I spent all weekend under the hood of my wife's car replacing a bunch of stuff and included removing the intake manifold which is a PITA.

IOS 10.2. Info in the App Store states that it will run GPS in background.

OK finally got around to doing some data logging with direct comparisons with DS set at 3.0 PSI, normal and with the DS removed. Good news is AFRs look good and mimic what happens when stock. I basically figured out the spike in AFR happens when you lift off the throttle, durrr. Under throttle AFRs are in a good range in all modes. With back to back comparison, the car definitely feels faster with more available torque down low. Is it worth $300. Maybe. If you want a little extra get up and go that is easy to uninstall (if you have warranty concerns) and don't plan FBO with tune then its a good buy. If you want to go FBO with tune then skip it and get a charge pipe.

The HP and torque increase claims seem to be legit

I haven't been to the drag strip so I don't have that data and not going to risk it on the street

Looks like a nice run. How would that compare to stock (non Dinan Sport)?

Best I can supply is a single run I made at the 1/4 mile when I only had the MPPK, which would compare it up to 100mph. Looks like it's around .5 sec slower to 100 without the Dinan Sport.

Question Any potential for Voiding Warranty?

Hi Everyone

I'm relatively new here and might have been discussed previously. I have a 2015 428 convertible. I want to get this installed but wondering if mod would be traceable when I take the car in for an oil change for example. (of course I would take out the tuner before I take it BMW service)

Basically I want to get this and avoid losing my warranty coverage.
