BMW 4 Series F32 Concept Gets TV Ad and Shuttles Celebrities at Berlin Film Festival
BIMMERPOST NEWS BMW 4 Series F32 Concept Gets TV Ad and Shuttles Celebrities at Berlin Film Festival While the BMW 4 Series Coupe will not see its debut until this Fall, the concept model (which debuted late 2012) is now being used in promotional material and events to build up anticipation for the production F32 4 Series Coupe. The F32 4 Series Coupe will begin production this July 2013, to appear in dealers beginning August-September. The F33 4 Series Convertible begins production in November 2013. The US will get the 428i and 435i coupes, in RWD and xDrive versions. The European model lineup can be seen in this previous post showing VIN model lookup results. The coupe and convertible models will be joined by the 4 Series Gran Coupe model in 2014. Directly below is the first TV ad that is airing for the 4 Series Coupe Concept, which asks "When does sheer driving pleasure begin with the BMW Concept Coupe 4?" Making of: Translation: "Sheer Driving Pleasure - When does it begin? When the engine starts and you feel the power? When you accelerate and leave straights, corners and everything else behind you? No - it begins at first sight. Designed for Driving Pleasure" And this second clip gives us a short glimpse of it being used at the 2013 Berlin Film Festival to shuttle celebrities to the red carpet (see 38 second mark). I've always felt BMW doesn't really make any substantial effort to portray their cars in pop culture. This is a good start but I think they should put their cars out there a bit more.

Still having difficulties getting over the front end looking like teenage mutant ninja turtles.
It's almost as if they got lazy towards the end of the design analysis and looked at someone's desk toy for inspiration. They had the same lazy design towards the front end of the pre-lci e90, the "swarthy frenchman mustache" above the grill, to this day I still cringe a little when looking at the front of my car. |

While I agree you can resemble the front ends of cars to faces, and this does look a little like a pissed off ninja turtles mouth, I don't think it's a bad thing at all. The vehicle design is astonishing for a BMW coupe under the 6 series. People act like just because you can resemble a new design to something that it's a bad thing. If you did not know what a ninja turtle was, what would be your issue with this design? If you can't think of anything, it's probably not worth knocking it. Just sayin.

In America and Canada maybe, but they had an absolutely massive presence at the London Olympics. And now there's a roundel on virtually everything Rugby related in the UK.

Since i cant just erase the image and pop cultural reference to ninja turtles, I'm afraid ill just have to disagree with the front end. Sorry to have a negative opinion (not really but whatevs). The rest of the car looks amazing, there, is that better?

90% of what I dis-like is the front bumper. And the other 10% is the Nav screen which looks like somebody just stuck a mini pad on top of the dash and said "ok that will work" versus making it more integrated with rest of the dashboard.
Other than that I'm sure the 4 series won't disappoint mechanically. |

I ve been secretly hoping that navscreen would be redesigned to fit like MB or Audi. The iPad look is not timeless at all. People will get bored if it rather soon.

They will fix the front bumper on the production version. Nothing about this car makes me go "wow" though. I'm sure the M-Sport versions and M4 will change that.
