19's vs 20's tires?
Hi everyone,
So I'm considering getting a new set of wheels (probably Volsteiner), but I'm not sure what size to get. I'm stock M Sport suspension on my MY14 335i M Sport and currently running the 400M wheels on stock summer radials which are becoming more prone to hydroplaning (14k miles and Seattle rain). I'm not sure if I should go 19's or 20's---it all depends on the price of all-season tires. Anyone know which is more affordable? The wheel sponsors are telling me to go with a configuration of 19 x 8.5 & 10 or 20 x 8.5 & 10. I'm not very familiar with wheels and tires configuration, but I'm assuming you guys would run similar specs? Anyways, that is all---what's more affordable in terms of tires---19's vs 20's? Sincerely, Sam |

So I'm in a very similar situation right now. I want Vorsteiner summers for my 435. My research basically came down to:
20in costs about 200 bucks more for the rims themselves (I plan on the V-ff 103's). 20in tires were around 30-50 bucks more than 19's per tire depending on brand. So I'm leaning 19, especially since the roads over here around Pullman are not the greatest (26 is brutal). Having done my fair share of Seattle driving, I would also lean 19 for that as well. That's what my head says anyways...my heart can't quite decide which size looks better yet All the best in your search. |
