Has anyone tried something like this? If so how were the outcomes ? How much louder could this be?

Would like a louder exhaust and to have some control of the exhaust volume without having to pay 2k for a valved cat back system.

Any insight from someone more knowledgeable than me on this would be appreciated.

I tried it, and it was like this after I remodeled it，and sounds very loud
The stock exhaust pipe is 1 way in and 2 way out. One of them passes through the silencer, which is not directly penetrated, and the pipe have drilled holes to silence。
