Bare in mind I'm not too worried about negative equity as I fully intend on sticking the full 36 months and may even buy the car at the end of it if nothing takes my fancy.

At my age and income think I need to keep the car 5 years at least to justify the cost. I've also asked to check if any 320i's in stock however last time I checked there were none with the minimum spec I wanted given I will be doing 6-8k miles a year so whatever works out cheaper overall is good enough for me. (I.e. don't need the efficiency of the diesel).

Will let you know what progress I make tomorrow - thanks for all the advice so far mate!
Ah explains it, price you pay sometimes unfortunuately, I'm half hour or so further east so pay a little less I guess!

Have a look, diesels will hold their value better though, and a low mileage diesel in a few years will hold a premium over the GFV.

Morning all, just read your post and all the deals sound great but one thing I don't think you can get is steering wheel paddles on a 318d. I know it's a small detail but if the paddles are important to you like they were to me when ordering then you may have no choice but to order the 320d.
Hope this helps.

Just a quick update, went for the 330d! Order placed and pickup booked for 11th April (Stock car ofcourse).

Will post full specs and details over the weekend as absolutely swamped with work at the moment. Once again thanks to everyone for the wonderful advice - hope I've made the right decision!

Learnt how to drive in a diesel Corsa then subsequently drove around in my dad's Passat 2.0 TDI till I got my own car - so you could say diesel was the norm to me and I've missed it a little - probably because the 2 cars I've owned so far was petrol 1.2l Corsa and a petrol 1.4l Seat Ibiza.

Given I'm 23 and I've never owned or driven for a long period of time a car in this league I'm just grateful I have this opportunity.

It would be an honour to have Nick the man himself comment on this thread - in case he does...in my defence I did enquire about the 328i but the ones in stock were all very poorly specd!

They sound like a rough 4 pot diesel anyway, the 6 cylinder diesels are loads smoother, good choice!

They poorly spec 328i's as they know no one will want them as real men go for the 335i if they truly believe the petrol>diesel hype......

I'm looking at ordering the following: (note would have loved a 328i/330d but insurance as a 23 year old is crazy)

320d M Sport
Black Sapphire
M Sport Plus Pack
Pro Nav
Sunroof

The car is a stock model and has a list of £37,854 - I've been quoted around 21% off... so on a 3 year finance deal with 8k p.a. the figures are (5.9% apr):

Deposit (my px): £3,250
35 x £420.88
GFV: £16,235

I'm well aware the LCI is around the corner, but does't seem theres going to be any large changes - you think due to this I should expect more discount?

All opinions appreciated!

Thanks

EDIT: Just corrected the list price above, its £37,854 not £38,854 as originally posted.

That's a cracking deal mate (and brilliant spec) - including the service package thats over 23.5% off. What's the GFV at the end of the PCP (assuming its a 36 month deal?). Did you also get the new 5.4% apr rate?

I ended up going for a 330d MSport but discount wasn't as high in terms of percentage! However due to better residuals the monthlies were very similar.

I got a 330d MSport
Black Sapphire
M Sport Plus Package
Visibility Pack
Pro Nav
Interior Comfort Pack

List of £40,590
Discount £8,915 which is 22%, but no free service pack - if i want to count the service pack as free then my discount level goes down to just under 21%. Probably could have done a bit better but whats done is done now - looking forward to the big day! Unfortunately I have to wait a few days longer than you....11th April!

Best of luck for your collection on Monday, hope the sun is shining and you have a wonderful day!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend! Picked up the car last Saturday and really pleased so far!

Unfortunately been very busy at work so had barely done any miles till Firday evening when I decided to take her for a spin on the M11 and some country roads, got 42mpg on a semi spirited drive (keeping to the break in period rules ofcourse). Apart from that done a couple of East to North London trips in traffic and overall averaging 36mpg since I picked her up so can't complain. Given I do 8k miles p/a the mpg doesn't really matter so much but its nice to know she can be efficient when needed.

As I'm still a new forum newbie going to try and figure out how to upload pics. Unfortunately it was rainy and overcast when I picked her up so didn't take any decent pictures but once I get time to give her a nice clean will upload some more. For now these are the pictures of her going through final prep before I picked her up.

Coming from a 2009 Seat Ibiza 1.4 I don't have any complaints, as you can imagine this is the best car I've ever owned and so far she's been perfect. Car was purchased through TRL but mainly dealt with Mo Qadeer from Berry Heathrow. Would like to thank them both for a smooth transaction and a great deal!

TLDR Summary: Picked car up last week, over the moon.

Just had my first proper long journey since picking the car up, 432 mile return journey to Manchester. Averaged 49mpg on the way there and 52mpg on the way back! Mix of Sport and Eco Pro driving (mainly on the 50mph average speed check stretches on the M1 and M6). My 1.4 Ibiza used to struggle to hit 40mpg on the same journey!

Love this car!
