Hey guys,

So I have both front and back PDC... Obviously the back is only relevant when in "R" ... (I have an automatic)

But the thing i was wondering is whether it's possible to set the front sensors as always active ? Right now they are only working when I'm either reversing or manually pushing the parking button down before coming close to something ... would be great if it was just always active instead of having to select it to be on ... my previous car (Honda Civic) was always on ...

I have an F31 ...

The default setting is that PDC turns off at a certain speed - you can increase the speed via coding, so you can keep PDC always on, however what good would it be during driving?

I second this question. My F15 automatically engages the PDC and surround view when I enter a parking spot even when driving forward. I already coded my F32 with the usual PDC options but it only activates automatically if I put it in reverse. I have the full surround view option.

I can understand you raising the question seeing as my original question wasn't exactly self-explanatory.

It's not that i want the sensors to stay on while driving about but when i get home or going into a parking bay i would like the sensor to register when i'm getting close to something.

I'd just rather have to be selective about having it off than having to push a button every single time i get home or park my car at work etc ..

Hope it makes sense... I don't think it's doable though from having scrolled through a bunch of forum threads ..

Unofortunately "auto-on" PDC when near an obstacle can be coded only if you have the Parking Assistant (car parks automatically for you).

Alright. That's it then.. I'll just need to make it a habit to push the button whenever I'm parking front first ...

Is parking assistance retrofittable ?
