3 Series vs. 5 Series Navigation

So the car is back to the dealer again for the 5th time in 4 weeks with issues with the windows again. My loaner is a 2013 535 xDrive. I've noticed the 5 Series Navigation seems to have a faster response, the screen looks more vivid, and the interface appears to be slightly different then the one on my 2013 M Sport. The screen also looks larger in the 5 Series.

Are there any differences in the Navigation Units on either of the 2013 3 & 5 Series models?

Thanks! My current F30 had a build date of 11/12, don't think it ever received these enhancements. I just ordered a new F30 and it is set for Production this month or next, I assume it will have the faster processing, etc.

F30s in the US won't get the new Nav until July production, i.e. MY2014.

Just to clarify, the new NBT Nav for F3x cars in BMWNA market will begin with July 2013 production. F31's (wagons) that are MY14 but produced before July will NOT have NBT.

For some odd reason BMWNA decided to hold out on the NBT Nav for "F" 3 series cars. Why, is anyone's guess but I suspect some marketing genius over there had an idea he sold to the big guns and they bought it.

The rest of the world has been enjoying the NBT Nav since November or December 2012 production.

You are wrong on the f31. It does have the NBT nav on cars before July.

If I'm wrong, can you explain this BMWNA memo?

http://www.f30post.com/forums/attach...5&d=1363625147

I see you also posted in another thread claiming you thought the NBT was in F31 from 3/2013 start. The fact that BMWUSA lists things on the web means little. They've made plenty of errors before on the website like back in November they changed the F30 graphic for the Nav to show NBT screenshot, yet the NBT never came.

I tried to confirm with my CA and he's just not sure. They reached out their BMW rep but I haven't heard back yet. Dealer tells me they are getting one F31 in a week or two. He didn't know if the tech package was coming on their one demo.

In South FL pretty much no one wants an XI so anyone ordering a F31 is waiting for 7/2013 production anyway.

On the order sheet for the f31, it states

Advanced real time traffic
Bmw concierge
And includes 10 yr telematic service.
Also specs list 200gb hard drive in the system.

F31 is just too expensive

It is about the same price as the 335i

Now F31 330 D would be a good deal if priced the same as 335i
