Trip to BMW service department Tomorrow!
I'm headed in to have some things checked out.
#1: A.S.S. update. Car stalls everytime it kicks in now I would like to use it but I have almost been rear ended by anxious drivers 3 or 4 times now. #2: Car pulls to the right, tire pressures are all correct and let the wheel go and it will change lanes for me. Only 3300 miles on the car and I havent even come close to hitting a pothole or curb. #3: The one I'm most worried about, Steering wheel vibration between 40-60 mph. I dont know if I'm being picky, but I totally notice the wobble in the wheel when I have one hand on it and it drives me nuts! #4: Heated Seats, build sheet and sticker show heated seats and they arent there, no buttons to turn them on at least, I'm not to worried since I'm in Phoenix and they would get used only in the winter for a short time to warm up the seats, but if I'm paying for them I would like to have them. Also will help in the future with resale value. Well thats the list, I hope BMW is able to help me out with these. I totally love my car so far and hope the experience continues. |

Going to the service dept tomorrow too. My laundry list:
1. ASS update 2. Car shudders a little bit when I do WOT from 50-80(passing speed) as if the engine hesitates or the transmission is slipping. I hope they can look into it. no steering wheel vibration but i just want it checked out before i put on rims and springs. 3. Wind noise at 70-80mph driver's and passenger's. we went on a road trip and tried sitting in the back. it was very quiet back there. 4. Audio jack issue. the plug is loose. |

1. ASS. They updated the car software. I need more time to drive to see if this update "fixed" it or not. 2. I was getting a very slight vibration in the wheel at 50-60 (nowhere near what others are reporting). I reported it just to be on the record. They did a road-force balance and found 3 of the tires slightly out of balance. I can confirm that the vibration is now gone for me. 3. I reported wind noise too. It's slight and varies. The car is definitely the quietest car I've ever had. They checked the seals based on a SIB, but didn't find any fault (others people here have reported incorrectly installed seals). Tech reported that he did hear some noise and attributed it to crosswind noise and is "not a defect". I'll keep monitoring it. |

The vibrating wheel is a widespread issue with no fix, affecting 328s and 335s, sportline, luxury, msport.... everything. It really just depends how far you want to take it.

Justinum if you don't mind me asking you what dealer are u dealing with. I just got 600 miles in my f30 and have the wheel vibration pretty bad. I haven't been to the dealer yet so I don't know where they stand. I'm dealing with Braman of Miami. They've been gr8 so far I've dealt with them for the last 4 years. Sorry for the thread high jack but I can't send Pm's yet. Thanks.

Those of you that have a vibrating steering wheel, does the wheel vibrate even after a 20-30 minute drive? IOW, after the tires are nice and warm?
Continental tires, and some others, have a great tendency to go "out of round" even after only sitting for a few hours. In my 135i, every time I drive it cold, there is a slight and noticeable steering wheel vibration. It completely goes away after about 10 minutes of driving and the tires are nice and warm. I've experienced this on other cars with Conti tires, but other tires do this as well. I just swapped my Conti's and put the OEM Dunlop S01's back on. No vibration when cold at all. However, these RFT's SUCK. The harsh ride is back, and every time I hit even a moderate bump I am reminded as to why I changed to non RFT's. I'll be swapping the OEM RFT's on my 335i Msport some time in October, for a set of non RFT's. I'm interested to feel what these next gen RFT's are like. But, I can't use summer tires around here anyway, so they're out. |

I hope these are 2012 models and not 2013's. I can expect a few bugs in a new model the first year but they should have it taken care of before the next year models come out.

I have MSport 18's and the vibration is there. It is not terrible but you can see the steering wheel shake left to right at speeds of 40 to 60 |

I just scheduled my service for next Friday to take my car in for similar issues:
1) A.S.S. re-coding 2) Steering wheel vibration at 40-60 mph (mostly just to document the problem as I know there is no true prescribed fix as of yet) 3) Wiper blade leaves a smudge on the window where it stops in front of the driver's line of sight. I also have the Pirelli Tire (Sportline 18s)
