By the way - make sure you to check your BT and USB audio interface version and update to the latest ones if you haven't done so already.

Got this from the website but I'm still unsure how it works.. do you download the files to a USB from somewhere or does it connect to the internet via your phone?

"You can perform this software update yourself. To do so, all you need is a standard USB memory stick with sufficient memory capacity. If required, your BMW Dealer will also have a USB memory stick for you to purchase. To perform this software update, you will require the USB audio interface (included in optional equipment codes 6FL, 6NH, 6NK or 6NL) as well as the Control Display and iDrive. Your vehicle can be updated provided that you have the ‘Software update’ option on your ‘Settings’ menu in the Control Display.

The software update your vehicle requires depends on the equipment in the vehicle. Please enter the last seven digits of the Vehicle Identification Number to select the software updates available for your BMW. "

Load the file to the root directory of a flash drive and plug it in to the USB slot under the center armrest.

Go to Settings and there's a software update option there somewhere. Takes a minute or two.

I go to the web link Dab, and after placing the last seven digits of the vin number it will not let me press "continue" , could this be caused by the fact i'm in Australia ?

The first things I did was:
Take photos
Check Tyres - Bridgestone Potenza S001
Check odometer - 15.2kms
Absorb what I could about the aspects & characteristics of the car
Drive it.

I shall probably:

Ogle at it.
Check Tyres.
Check Odometer.
Get in and drive it round the block.
Use Park Assist.
Laugh hysterically at the ludicrousness of a car parking itself.
Sit in it and play with buttons for a while.
Get the kids from school.
Park twelve times on the way home whilst laughing with the kids.
Read the manual.

Let us know how the auto parking goes man, I never had a car which had that option. I'm afraid of change lol

Me neither. I can't help but think it'll be one of those toys I use once every time someone new gets in my car just for the LOLz. When it comes to actually parking it ... I'll probably just do it myself. But then you never know ... I might be pleasantly surprised

Bought it with the car - factory option. May even be a local install at the SMG prep centre.

I've had the car since Friday now and the auto-park is bloody amazing! Honestly, that thing can park better than I can and no doubt I must have done 7 or 8 auto-parks already and every one has been from 4 to 6 inches from the curb. Sorry, 10-15cm And two of those have been in space I wouldn't have taken on Very pleasantly surprised by it
