I ditched the m sport pads and now have the m performance pads. No more brake squeal.

My brakes (blue M Sport) have been squeaking since I got the car a couple of months ago - only when light braking, sometimes ear-piercing, sometimes quieter. It is so embarassing that I have been hard braking when I can at intersections (nobody right behind me) - had a pedestrian scream at me for doing it - I was nowhere near him but he still freaked out.

I have a service appointment on Thursday and am trying to go in with as much info as possible. I was able to find the TSB 34-09-13 and will bring that with me. Does anyone know the number or have the text of the one from January 2017? The 2013 didn't show my F33 model listed so I am hoping the 2017 one does. The brakes and pads should be okay as the car is CPO with only 12,250 miles on it. I love the car to death but the brakes are driving me nuts. I have even started referring to the car as Kreischen, or German for squeak/screech. Love everything else about it though.

Also, for those of you with the blue M Sport brakes that bought Akebono pads that are quiet, which part numbers did you get? If BMW won't fix this, I am probably going to just go aftermarket on the pads.

Resurrecting this thread, can you tell me where did you find the pads and how much it was? Mine are squealing after I used the E brake, it goes away after a little bit. Annoying as hell, such a nice car doing that, my other cars don't do that, my wife 2014 Mercedes don't ever done that. I don't think is normal, I inquired at the dealer and the advisor kinda brushed me off by saying it was normal. I know he just didn't want to fool with that, meh...

I bought the EBC red pads (picked them up from ECS Tuning). The directions tell you to put the copper paste on all mating parts. When I pulled the OEMs off, the fronts had paste, rears had nothing. I've been running them for 1.5 years now, and 100% silent (and no dust). The OEM's started to squeal after 6 months, and insane amount of brake dust.

Watching this thread with interest. After 11K miles, M Sport brakes on my 2017 440i GC are still silent.

I said earlier that my brakes weren't making noise. They now make a noise while reversing out of a parking space with light pedal effort. Would not describe it as a squeal but more of almost a ring. Goes away after I go into drive so I'll have them look at it at the next service. I did have the brakes done when they started pulsating a few months ago. All of it was paid for by BMW

I had the issue with the rear brake squeal at very low speeds. Dealer addressed it via the TSB (2014 time-frame) that lubing the caliper/carrier slide pins and surfaces and essentially shaved down the leading and trailer edge of the pads. The TSB stated the paint over-spray on the edges of pad was the culprit. Seemed to help for a while, but the squeal eventually returned. I'm about to do a brake job and hopefully will finally get this solved with new rotors and pad. Will not be using the OEM pads which on my car are Jurid 208-FFs. Other than the squeal and the damn dust, I can't complain since this will be the first brake job needed at 97K since new.

Go aftermarket to get rid of the dust. I put Brembo's on my E90 when they were due for replacement, and dust was almost non-existent. When my F30 started to squeal (I was already annoyed with the dust), I went EBC since Brembo didn't have an offering (odd considering the m-sport brakes are Brembo).

Braking ability is very similar to OEM. The difference is the petal feel. OEM feels "softer" when the pads engage. Aftermarket feels more like two pieces of metal coming together. Not a big deal, just doesn't feel as "refined" as the stock pads. But that "refinement" comes with dust....

Just adding myself to the list. Thanks for saving me the hassle of the potentially worthless TSB. I'm going in for an oil change - will likely also ask for just a clean and lube. If that fails, it seems like aftermarket pads may be the way to go.

2015 335i F30 N55 w/ m sports package, blue m sport brakes and 11k miles. It's a sick ride even with no mods - but the brakes are a bit embarrassing. Now that colder weather is here, they squeak at every single stoplight, stopsign, etc. Was slightly less bad in summer but still bad.

I changed pads to PowerStop carbon fiber ceramic pads and so far no noise and very low dust. Stop and go feel not much different than old pads.

Here's my 2 cents

I have Baer performance brakes on my jeep and when I had my pads changed at the dealer they squeaked pretty bad. Took it back and got the "it's normal" response.

I called Baer and they emailed me the correct way to prep your pads. With performance pads I was told you have to transfer a good amount of the pad to the rotor to avoid noise.

I took my jeep back out and heated those bitches up real good and took them through the steps and it solved my squeaking problem for good.
