You are right - VIN's should be 17 digits, for any car, even a Ford...

How many digits do you have after the N character (N is for South Africa factory build)? if you have 6 you can get the rest of your VIN by typing it into bmwvin.com, as it only requires the last 7 digits.

I have 5 digits after the N. I tried to type in the last 7 digits in bmwvin.com and it said it could not locate the VIN. Looks like its missing digits in the last 7. I've sent the Sales Rep an email to double check the VIN and get back to me.

Thanks for confirming the number of digits.

Has anyone got further info from their dealer on their MSport?
I've been checking day and night to see if it started to track... and it hasn't!
I think I'm a bit obsessed at this stage....

Your actions are a clone of mine. I'm the same. Any spare moments I get, I pop onto the WWL (sounds like the wrestling) website (on my bookmarks list) and paste my car's VIN into the cargo ID in the track & trace page, like seconds before posting this comment. Still coming up as No Records Found.

I'm waiting till mid next week before calling my dealer to annoy them yet again - if need be.

We are all obsessed at this stage, and every other stage.

For ppl interested in the price of boot liner, the full rubber perfect fit from BMW is $349. The one that fold over the bumper bar is not rubber but a carpet like material and that is $389. Both prices from Worthington BMW. See the rubber boot liner for $102 on eBay but they will not ship outside of the US.

i can relate to you guys as well... the wait for the damn build was a killer but the wait for them to ship it is just as bad

I think when it's finally on it's voyage, we'll be obsessed with when the dealer gets it and releases it to us

cheers to doing the same thing every spare moment guys haha

I've seen it on Amazon from one vendor for $120 plus they claim $41 shipping to Australia. Its a big package though (38 inchs x 34 inches x 0.5inches) so don't know how it'll fit in my mailbox, or how the postie will fit it on the back of his bike, but more seriously, $41 seems cheap to ship something so big.

The rubber liner is quite heavy. I can't think the postage being $41 when
I just ordered a figurine of less than 1/2 kg and it was $15 postage from the US.
On another note I was parked with my X5 next to an F30 sport 335 today at the beach. Can't wait to get mine

I just checked a few minutes ago and straight after reading your post.
Sadly nothing for my car.
Maybe if I keep trying…...

Just checking.
Did you just copy and paste your VIN into the Cargo ID only or did you have additional information?

Just copy and paste the VIN into the Cargo ID. No further information

Make sure you press the track button at the bottom and not the button just next to the Cargo ID bar.

Been doing that for a week now. Thanks for the update. As of seconds ago, still no records found.

Does it surprise anyone that the sales or BMW Australia isn't more forthcoming with information? They do monitor this site, yet there is minimal effort from our respective sales to provide info on a more frequent basis! Disappointing that sales aren't going the extra mile to satisfy demand or build relationship for potential on-sale!

I know they monitor the site because I saw it on my sales' screen....

Yet they claim not to know anything about anything outside their closed official BMW world. RUBBISH!!!!

So BMW Australia, get with 2012 and make the information we seek accessible. BMWNA does. BMW Australia can as well - so do it!

0 for car build and track & trace information.
Then again, WWL is also slow in updating their info.
