Leaf in the Fan
Had a noisy CH fan particularly when on full blast over this recent hot weather. Sounded like a Merlin engine warming up at the end of the runway!
Quite liked it! Anyway the car had to go in for an oil change (subject of another post) so the BMW Main Dealer said they would sort it. To my surprise they said it was a leaf jammed in the fan! And the remedy: a mod, a grill in front of the fan to trap leaves! How can this be possible when there is supposed to be an air intake microfilter! I am baffled! I suspect the filter had not been positioned correctly and therefore let past a leaf. Anyone any other ideas? |

Had this on mine too. Car was only a few months old and the dealer tried to get me to sign a disclaimer that I'd guarantee coughing up a few hundred quid if they found nothing. After telling them where they could poke that, they found a leaf in the fan and applied the mod

Bizarre I was going to start a thread on this last week..
Has anyone experienced the excessive noise purely when the AC is firing up or on full.....the excessive noise for me reduces if the fans are running but with Air con off?..
