My car turned into a rust bucket!
On the side of the 2 front wheels there is rust. rust dots like 5 on each side. My old cars never rusted this fast before....
Will post pictures. BMWs warranty will cover? |

You talking rail dust (small iron deposits) or actual rust as in there are holes in your car? BMW typically won't cover rail dust but in many cases your dealer may be generous and offer a free clay bar to rid you of the dots.
For those living in the rust belt here in the states this rail dust is pretty common. Can wreak havoc on the lighter colored cars. I clay bar our fleet once a year to keep these specs at a minimum. |

the rust is on the paint. the black box indicates where the rust is. it is on both sides.
here is a picture from my iphone. tomorrow i will take a picture with a dedicated camera for better quality. The iphone camera only picked up 3 rust spots. But my eye see's more I only noticed when i was detailing my car. even clay barred the entire car. |

i search and isnt it 12 years?
The warranty for perforation due to corrosion is for a period of 12 years/unlimited kilometers. Anyways i searched that warranty and some people say bmw will not fix unless there is an actual hole made by the rust. i hope thats not true. |

Before you throw in the towel and say its rust (or paint damage), please try Auto Finesse Iron Out. It works wonders to remove rust like spots (rail dust) from paint. Sometimes takes more than one application but its pretty magical.
And its a gem at cleaning brake dust off wheels and removing the tiny little things that stick to your paint that cause the surface to not feel smooth. Here's the 5L and 500ml options http://www.detailersdomain.com/Auto-...nge_p_781.html http://www.detailersdomain.com/Auto-...-ml_p_780.html My recommendation is to buy the 5L. Once you start using this on your wheels you'll be so happy. Especially with the euro dusting brake pads.

Pretty sure it is not rust too I have the same every year after the winter, just needs a bit of detailing. Should be rail dust, I remove it with quick detailer and clay.

It's impossible for rust to form on the paint itself. The paint is not made of iron. This is from dust particles that you picked up while driving around, or from being on a train to be delivered to you. Also known as rail dust. They are very tiny particles but once they rust, they become visible. I have the same thing on my car. As was mentioned before you should get some Iron X or equivalent product and spray your car with it. Then claybar the car. I'm still looking for a cheap source of Iron X because this product is very expensive.

This is recommended for removing industrial fallout/Rail Dust:
http://www.sonax.com/Products/Exteri...allout-cleaner I think the guys at Detailers Domain use it. I have not developed any spots on my AW 435 but I am sure they will appear sooner or later. |

Front quarter panels are metal. Rail dust can occur on any surface though. Even plastic. It's essentially tiny iron or soft metal deposits that stick to the painted surface then over time rust as they interact with the environment.

You could first try to DIY with a very gentle cleaner, like Meguiar's cleaner wax. I've used this successfully to get other surface contaminants out of the clear coat.

You should be able to remove the discolored look. Try a cleaner/wax. FE is non acid, ph neutral so shouldn't damage paint. Begs the question, what quality paint is used on the replica wheels? Where are they manufactured?
