606 Business Nav (champ2+combox) to NBT Professional 609

Hi all I recently signed up on the forum but I have been lurking for a wee bit. I am looking to upgrade my 606 business nav (champ2) to nbt professional 609. I think the topic has been beat to death but a lot of the information seems to be conflicting. Most of the posts talk about upgrading from HU_ENTRY and HU_ENTRYNAV but I have the champ2

Car model: F30 320d modern 03/2013

I have the 6’5 inch display and a combox in the trunk. If anyone has done the retrofit your help will be really appreciated.

From what I gather I need to:
• Buy NBT headunit, 8inch display, emulator and touch controller (optional)
• Buy GPS antenna and possibly another mic and USB connector
• And some coding (I am comfortable doing this myself)

I have seen video tutorials on how to remove the display and headunit so in that area I am covered.

My question is since I have the combox in the boot do I have to re-route the microphone cable and USB back to the NBT headunit? Is it possible to just buy another usb cable/connector and microphone to avoid the hussle of re-routing the wires.?
Are the headunits one size fits all or do I have to look for one from a specific model or year

Are you upgrading to NBT EVO2 headunit with CarPlay? If so, I would be very interested in this retrofit.

Hi to be honest I am not looking for car play but that would be a plus if I can find the NBT at a good price. I have seen a couple of nbt units on ebay but they seem to be mainly from left hand cars.
Right now I am just looking to see if the upgrade is possible and if someone has done it; before I start ordering parts.
