Anyone else amazed by his cf wrapping skills? Damn it looks nice. I couldn't even remove a trim piece without breaking something.

Thanks for posting your pics and the progress.

Anyway we can get a video tutorial for your carbon wrapping?

Where can we get the wrap?

You know what, I don't really have the time right now and I would always like to help out a fellow enthusiast. You would have to leave the parts with me for about 5 days so I can get to it when I have time. I do have this fabric in RED and SILVER also. The total install with the drying time takes about 4-5 hours.

HAHA didnt think about a video but its a bit of a long process. Takes lots of love and patience. The wrap I used is fabric. You can use vinyl sticker wraps also in carbon but I just dont like the feel of it. Feels like cheap plastic.

I dont video helps, wrapping looks easy, but really needs some skills. I bought some 5D gloss carbon fiber, and tried to wrap my roof, but i messed up so much, lol.....BTW, where do you live?

Is this reversible? I see that you sprayed the adhesive on it.

Yes it's very rewarding doing it all yourself. I very much enjoyed looking over your build. Especially the wrap. Did you also wrap your mirror caps? What type of wrap did you use or was it the same carbon cloth material?

Thanks, the mirror caps are from Autotecknic real carbon fiber. I cant wrap the mirror caps with the fabric because they are meant for interior use, but I could wrap it with vinyl although I just think it is too cheesy with vinyl on the mirror caps. Thanks for the compliment tho. I will have more pics of my next project wrapping the side skirts with vinyl.

Carbon Fiber Vacuum Spoiler

Well, I was going to save this for the weekend to do but I could not help myself. Got home 3 hours ago and started installing the goodies. First up is a spoiler for AutoTecknic who is known to have pretty good fitment for BMW. They had a couple different ones but this Carbon Vacuum spoiler seemed to be the right one. The part weighed in a 8 ounces with the 3M tap backing. That is hella light and the fitment was spot on.

THE BACK OF IT HAS NO FIBER GLASS, JUST CARBON MAKES IT HELLA LIGHT

8.4 OUNCES!!

As always make sure you prep the surface

Do not pull off all the backing, it will make it hard to adjust

Before installing use tape at the edges to line up the desired mounting

Once mounted pull the back from the side

After the backing is all removed them firmly push down so the tape will now bond to the trunk and then....boom done

Here is the other Goodie from today CF Ebrake

Here is uninstall of the old handle and installation of the new handle. It looked good but now I am second guessing it

Maybe a bit too much carbon or black not enough contrast......Will lead to next post. Yes this is all happening in one day!
