Audi Q7 3.0 TFSI?

Does anyone own a Q7 with the 3.0 TFSI engine? Looking into buying one. Good choice or bad? Please let me know.

I own a 08 Touareg, which is the same platform as the Q7. I can't even imagine having a 3rd row in mine.

Driving wise I love it, if you're looking for a large SUV. Be prepared to pay the large maintenance bills and gas fill ups though. In a Texas suburb I averaged 9 mpg.

Again this is a Touareg so it should be similar, but not the same I'm sure. My advice is to look around fully first to make sure you need that much car

I forgot to mention I have the V6 too, so the precursor to the 3.0 TFSI engine to the best of my knowledge.

Ah.

Say, what's your opinion of the X1? Seriously considering one at the moment?

Picking mine up this week actually before I relocate permanently to Texas from up north. I absolutely love it, I suggest checking it out unless you need the height of the Q7 or a third row.

I do need a third row... But coming from a GMC Yukon XL Denali 9 mpg is fabulous! What year is your touareg? That number sounds a bit off.

It is a 2008, 75k miles on it. Nothing major repair wise at all though, that is the plus side of it so far. I bought it CPO at 21k miles in 2010.

Mileage does vary of course, and I run it with 93 fuel. On the highway I will get around 18 mpg. I do drive it hard though, and for such a large dependable suv it is a good one. It is just too much car, at least for me.

It's based on the Touraeg chassis but is longer wider and taller, it's like a Touraeg XXL, so long as it's only kids in the third row you should be ok.

Yes it's really for my mom, I'm 15 and there are only 6 of us so my sister can fit in the back. She is small. But overall I think we will get it for my mom for Christmas, it's a nice car!!

I haven't compared actual dimensions ever, but side by side you can absolutely tell the Q7, Touareg, and Cayenne are related. It must be inches seperating them.

Yes to Cayenne and Touareg looking similar they do share doors and some other items but externally the Q7 shares nothing with the Touareg or Cayenne, the wheelbase is also longer at 3,002mm whereas the Cayenne and Touareg are 2,855mm, Q7 is 5,005mm long, the Porsche/VW duo are both shorter than 4,800mm, Q7 is a much larger car, Audi markets the Q7 as a fullsize SUV whereas Porsche and VW call there's midsize SUV's.

Remember that Audi have not released the 2nd gen Q7, whereas Porsche and VW have released the 2nd gen Cayenne and Touareg.

The Q7 is still based on the first Touareg and is a gas guzzler. My friend works at the Audi Dealer and told me that a 3.0TFSI is around 10MPG in the city and 13 on the HWY. I would prefer the Diesel just to safe on gas money.
