4GC should look great! Where will the M4GC be priced compared to M4? Will the M4GC be around $70k?

Brand dilution.

I've been a Bimmer fan for over a decade now and it has gotten to the point where I can't even keep up with all the models and variations.

5-door concept. So the trunk completely opens up. Design-wise the back pillars are sculped a bit more sleeker. But yes, correct, not much more value added.

It seems to me a lot like when apple or samsung make a minor change to their flagship phone, and then sell it to you as if it's this amazing change and thing you must have because it will change your life...but in car form. lol

compare that to now with only 4; 316i, 320i, 328i, 335i;

I think the only differentiator here would be the looks, that might get confusing to the non BMW fans. But then again every other brand is doing the same; Merc, Audi, + the rest!
Well in all fairness, you're including all the engines used over the E9x's entire life cycle. For example, the 325i/330i never co-existed with the 328i/335i.

I'm sure we'll see at least one engine shakeup in the F3x's life cycle.

Certain countries had all those models except the 328i at once. Maybe the UK had all including the 328i at the same time?

I'm hoping for a 340i lol

M4GC will likely be my next lease. can only dream of how sexy that will look.
the decision between f30 and f36 will come down to amount of rear room necessary (and cost). the f30 rear will likely be much more useable and practical. don't see the f36 stealing away too many f30 buyers.

Why do I have a feeling the M4GC is going to cost the same as a S6?

S6 is about $77K pretty loaded right now (just without the $5600 night vision package) and the old M3 Sedan was around $71K with the same options as the S6, Add about $4K because its the Gran Coupe plus a few years of price increases and we are going to be right around the same number. That would be a tough choice, especially with the performance numbers and interior the S6 provides. Exterior wise, I would take the M4GC anyday though.

So I think I understand BMW marketing now. You start with a 3 series sedan, then you remove two doors, call it a coupe and now a 4 series. Charge more money for the two door coupe you just created. Then add the two doors back that you had previously remove to create a sedan again but call it a gran coupe. And raise the price again. This is a two fold price increase to get back to the sedan you started with.

Don't we just love giving BMW more money!

Why are some of you offended at the number of models BMW is offering? As a customer, there's no downside; chances are there is some BMW product that more closely matches your ideal of a perfect car than there was 15 years ago.

BMW can be offended with its own behavior if this model proliferation fails to increase total market share. That's why they're doing it, and their ability to share components and design specifications across models lets them amortize R&D costs much more quickly. For BMW, it will either work or it won't. But there's no better time to be a BMW customer than now. IMO.

Of all the Gran Coupe renders out there.
This seems to be the most accurate.

4er unlike 3er is wider , sleeker and lower . The 4er takes the mantle for the lowest BMW model from the 6er Gran Coupe. The 4er Gran Coupe will be lowest and sleekest BMW four door to date , well until the 2er Gran Coupe.

Some people will look at the Gran Coupe because they have family needs or business requirements and for them a Coupe would be too small and inhibiting.
But there is a new generation of drivers out there who can enjoy the aspect of a sporting coupe yet can also fulfil their needs for additional flexibility.

If the rear windows look like they do in the renders then I think it will look good.

However, if you look at the camo on the rear window of the spy shots you can see what looks like a big plastic piece similar to what's on the pillar between the front and rear doors. It might ruin those nice lines.

We'll see I guess...

BMW is going wild! Lol. I am worried that BMW is losing its focus. To me, it already has.

Do we really need all these variation of cars ?

Looking forward to the 4GC!!!..........Def on my list of next cars to consider.

If you have a young family 4GC is a perfect solution as a DD for people that want the styling/sportiness of a coupe but need the 4 doors.
