The 1B SWID reader should have come with 4 updated .prg files that need to be copied to the EDIABAS/Ecu directory. Did you do that?

It generates the FSC in three steps. But you have to change the "year-parameter" in the batch-file to a later map (e.g. 2016 - or even later - instead of 2014), then it works perfectly.

can you guide me how and where am i changing this file name for the year-parameter and where is this batch-file located? is it under c:\EC_Apps\2015 folder? i see multiple year folders in there with a batch file named "fsc.bat". is this what i am changing ? i also see another fsck.bat file in the root of EC_Apps folder on C drive.

You have to edit the "FSC.BAT" file in the folder "EC_APPS" (same folder where you have saved "FSC GENERATOR.EXE" and "FSC.EXE")

In fact, you can delete the subfolders (2014, 2015 etc.) and edit the FSC.BAT on your own by using the Windows Editor e.g.

I've tried to update the maps (Europe Next 2014-2), but it doesn't seem to recognize my usb content, at least it doesn't prompt me for the map update/nothing happens.

Any tips?

I've formatted a 32gb usb drive with FAT32 and placed "NAVD_000014B9_255_001_048" in root folder.

Cannot have NAVD_000014B9_255_001_048 folder on USB Drive. Take only what is inside the NAVD_000014B9_255_001_048 folder and copy to USB Drive, but not the folder itself.

I was able to use E-Sys w/ ENET cable on Win7 64-bit laptop, extract Binary DE file, and use NBT.exe with native binary DE file and 0xA8 and 0x06 parameters for my FSC code of 2015 NEXT maps! Now I am just waiting for a 32gb flash drive to install it, but the hard part is done!

Hi Kitster, what does the above mean? Have I to copy the downloaded FSC file then rename it to the shorter filename? How does this compare to loque's method which seems to have fewer steps?

Your VIN number will be something like WBA4K12000F123456. Just take the last 7 numbers/letters of your vin, which in the example above will be F123456. Rename the file to be F123456.FSC.

If your stilling having issues PM your DE file and what map your trying to upgrade to.

Incorrect. It has nothing to do with F22, and it not asking for an FSC Code this first time is only a one-time thing. The car was built late enough in the year, that even though it shipped with an older map installed, BMW AG loaded the following Map Release FSC Code in head unit, so it did not ask for FSC Code for new map as it already had it.

It is a common practice of theirs to load newer map FSC Code on new car's produced late in the year, so their customers are not complaining that the moment they buy a new $40k plus car, they also have to buy a Map Update.

If anyone has followed my post for updating maps via the DE/1B on http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...&postcount=110

I've just upgraded my Europe NEXT 2014-2 maps to Europe NEXT 2015-1 using the above method. You will need to add the following entry to the Lookup.xml file in the Tools directory.

I'm struggling here to get the FSC code for my 2015-1 Europe NEXT Maps.

I have my DE file and saved as F708293_000DE001.fsc

Have tried to use the FSC code that was generated using the following steps but car is saying incorrect code, have tried 0x06, 0x07, 0x09.....

Steps:
1. open fsc.bat file with editor and look for line with 'c:\EC-APPS\fsc a.hex 0x28 0x06 > code.txt'
ensure 0x28 0x06 is correct for region and year; 0x28 = Europe and 0x07 = 2015

2. open 'b64dec.exe'
3. Load 'FF708293_000DE001.fsc'
4. Save to file 'a.hex' (press search button to save)
5. Press 'decode'

a.hex will be generated

6. Drag 'F708293_000DE001.fsc' over 'fsc.bat' with mouse.
7. Press any button


Are the above steps correct?
Would appreciate if someone try and generate the code for me.

Have attached my 'F708293_000DE001.fsc' file (change extension pdf to fsc)
