I ordered on August 26th, was told I'll get the car around end of October, beginning November. Didn't get a production number until October. Car completed production on the 25th of October according 1800# estimate after it entered production. As of 25th 1800# says "Production completed and is awaiting carrier" but mybmw site it still shows "Production begins" and it still shows that now. Almost a month now. Asked CA couple times and nothing he keeps telling me "I'll let you know" So annoying, I ask him something and his responds are always one sentence short and useless info. He just tells me same thing 1800 tells me.
Shouldn't he be trying to help me and finding out why it's been on that status for so long? I tried talking to rep on 1800# they have no idea why. Said they have limited info and CA has more. Please help what can I do? Want to get my January so I don't miss out on the $1000 holiday incentive. Anyone had problem with this status like mine? |

I agree, seems like CAs are setting unrealistic delivery time frames to collect deposit and the just winging it.

Sucks to hear OP. Ask the 1800# what is your status, meaning #. Like status 193/195 or something.

Contacted the dealer spoke to manager, useless also! said he see status 155. Doesn't tell me anything I don't already know, said he'll update me on Friday or Saturday... I doubt it... So annoyed! Told him about not wanting to lose out on the $1000 incentive. He said talk to CA and have him lock me in on the rate and finance. That's not going to happen I'll wait a little longer and cancel if this goes on for another 2 weeks.

I started a thread out this stupid ordering proceedure & got flamed for it. I will stand by my original thoughts about it. All is fair in business so I say go out and have somebody find you one. It's the end of the sales month too. |

Sounds like you either didn't ask, or were lied to about allocation, that's why you didn't get a production number till after the next month's allocations went through. I ordered on 8/28 and was delivered on 10/16.
Do you know if your car was a South Africa build? That could explain the delay in carrier info. If you don't want to be jerked around you can see what you can find in stock at other dealers, but many dealers may be in the same boat (literally).

If you actually read the comment you just quoted, you'd see he already tried the 800#, which IS BMW NA. |

OP,
I just re-read your entire thread to try and get a better understanding on where you are @ with your order. So I think I've sort of figured it out. A German Built/Build 335i is rare in the bay area from what I understand. I think what happened is that your CA meant to say that although you ordered your car on August 26, the car doesn't begin production until October of some time. From there its about 8 weeks to completion. How did I come up w/ this? When I did my order, I checked everywhere and re-checked what was available through allocations and I noticed that German Builds were slow and spread widely. If I were to have ordered a German Built car I wouldn't have received the car until mid-Jan despite that they ship faster than SA builds or @least this is what I've been told. I honestly don't know of a solution. I read what kind of 335i you want and yeah there probably won't be one on the lot. I would guess recommend you checking out other dealerships/CAs to see if you can cancel your order from where you got yours from and have the new CA steal that order since its in production. I think this can be done w/ Subarus, not sure on BMWs. Again, if you decide to do this, contact my guy @ Mountain View - Name is Mike Borbet. Keep me posted on whats happening. I feel bad for you man. I would be pissed too.

It's great if BMW knows it's market but when I see 87 328's in inventory & 3 335's in inventory, I just shake my head?? Sorry but I think BMW has it wrong about 335's but WTF do I know...

Isn't that because they are slowly but surely phasing out the N55 for the new N55/N56 or N55 High-Output?
