CPO Warranty Extension?
I have a 2013 CPO. Warranty is good until October. I didn't extend it when I got the car. Can it still be extended before the CPO runs out?

Yes, you can still extend it before it runs out. CPO usually extends original warranty by 1 year and unlimited miles but you can extend it up to 2 years unlimited miles.

You can, but with the cost of the extension... I don't know if it'll be worth.
Obviously if you have higher mileage or something for sure. But they offered something crazy like 2.8k for 1 yr and like 4k for 2 yr extension |

Wow super expensive for you guys state side, I just extended the warranty on my car for another year and it cost me around £522. Is there a difference between CPO and the warranty I have taken out?

Yeah. With that price, I just decided I'll put that away in a bank instead.
Especially since my car still has a year of new car warranty and a year of CPO left with only 32k on the clock. Seems 80k is where it usually fails for pumps and such and I won't be hitting that in 3~4 years, so warranty didn't seem worth it for me. |

CPO warranty isn't bumper to bumper--not by a long shot. I would not pay to extend a CPO warranty unless it was like $500.

Two options: Factory warranty extention Or 3rd party extended warranty I have 40k km's(24k miles)... Dealer wanted $4000CDN to do 3rd party (Powertrain only) to extend another 2 years (150k km) or $6000CDN for the same period via factory extention.

I mean hence when I get close to expiration.
Because if they require you to get one while you still have warranty, then that's kind of stupid as effectively they're making you double pay. So I doubt that they don't sell warranty to cars that are out of warranty. In fact, I think I remember watching a video of a guy just trying to see how much he'd be quoted on his really high mileage but great condition bimmer. Either way, extended warranties usually aren't worth for most people anyway but when they are, they REALLY are worth so it really is like gambling with your money. But if it's anything like 1k per year or something, I'd rather just save. I think if it were 5~700 maybe I'd do third party extension but I doubt it'd be that cheap by the end of my CPO warranty. |
