ISO of F30 Trunk Lid Replacement DIY

A few weeks ago I unfortunately had a mishap that ended with a large dent/gash to the trunk lid of my MY14 F30.

The body shop quoted over $1,600 to replace and paint a new trunk lid.

I was able to find a lightly used trunk lid in the same color from another car and am having it shipped to my home. I plan to change out the trunk lid myself.

I am hoping that someone else here may have the same or similar experience and can shed light on any of the intricacies of this project or anything that may be difficult. I have not been able to find a DIY anywhere for this project.

If you have anything to share, I thank you in advance!
