No, you don't need a token to do that. You only need the token to do FDL coding.

When you try to connect, does it connect via VIN? It should show your VIN in the connection area near the bottom of the window.

Are you selecting the F020 (not _DIRECT) chassis?

You need to write fake VIN to NBT using the FSC Extended module => WriteDataByIdentifierVIN, then VO Code Head Unit, Update Services via iDrive, and then write original VIN back to NBT.

If you are using the _DIRECT connection, that would be your problem reading VCM.

When I wrote the fake VIN to the NBT, FSCs went to rejected status.
When I wrote the original donor's VIN back to the NBT, FSCs went back to accepted status.

Would you please pm the links to E-Sys and PSdZData. I plan to use these for a late January 2014 build F31 so if there is a trimmed down version of the data files that is appropriate that would be most welcome. Thanks for your help.

The FSC Codes you have all depends on what Options your car has. You could have Navigation, Voice Control, BMW Apps, etc.

There is zero point in backing them up. If they change to "Rejected", changing the VIN back will set them back to Accepted. If something goes horribly wrong and they change to "Cancelled", the original ones are toast. They can't be reused.

You can check all of FSCs you have via E-SYS > Connect > Comfort mode > FSC > Check FSC Status

You can also save the FSCs via E-SYS > Connect > Expert mode > FSC-Extended but as Shawn told it does not make sense.

Without a 6F FSC Enabling Code issued by BMW AG for your VIN, you can't code Satellite Radio.

But if you get FSC Code, you will need to modify your VO to change 693_PREPARATION_SATELLITE_TUNER to 655_SATELLITE_TUNER, then Import and Activate a 6F Sat Radio FSC Enabling Code, and then VO Code the Head Unit (CIC or NBT).

First job is Enhanced Bluetooth (I have ordered Pro Nav) and then things like VIM. A total newibie question but, I have got E-sys and Psdzdata from your links, but am I going to need to buy a token to do what I want to do above?
