Unable to release bonnet

Hi all, does anyone know if you can manualy open the bonnet, I pull the relase twice but nothing, car is 5 days old and not to happy. Going to be doing a fair few miles in the next couple of days and might need to gain access. It makes a clicking noise at the front but will not open.

It might be partially unlatched on one side; try pressing it down firmly to reset the release. Failing that, it sounds like the cable could have slipped out of adjustment or, if there's no resistance when you pull the release handle, it could be broken, in which case you'll have to take it back to the dealer.

In the instructions above, what does "engine is released" mean?

There is a bit of a knack to it! Just pull it ALL THE WAY up, especially on the 2nd pull. Then you just lift the bonnet, there is no latch. It's not a light weight thing, I thought it was still latched until I applied a bit more force and found it was completely free.

It means that it falls on the floor, hence the reason why you should never open the bonnet whilst the car is moving

At long last, I can now open my bonnet, took it in yesterday to be told that the cable from the latch wasnt connected to anything, hence why bonnet failed to open. umm somthing a bid odd here as they think it has never been connected at factory level but the garage who supplied said they had opened it.
My instich says this car was never PDI as the idrive was set to German when it arrived. Think I might send them an email.
