I'm not familiar with Chris Evans or his work. But I just have this feeling that nobody will ever truly be able to replace Jeremy Clarkson

very true. the clarkson, hammond, and may will all go to another network and their ratings and viewership will be vastly superior to this new bbc lineup. people watch the show because of how good the three of them are

Exactly. I originally found Top Gear because of its car reviews, but found myself staying for its hosts' hilarious on-stage chemistry.

i'm surprised bbc is continuing with top gear. there's no way it will ever catch on with a new cast

Fifth gear was way more informative with real driving from professional drivers. Top gear wins in terms of film making and humor. They could do a show about anything - the cars were just set pieces for them.

Well of the presenters they could pick.
Interest in cars - tick. Previously hosted popular shows, radio etc - tick. Previously been in the crap with on screen antics and comments - tick. As with the show the presenter is always going to a bit marmite. Some stuff on Chris Evans. http://www.motoringresearch.com/top-...ion-0521976651 So yeah he has a big car collection and is a presenter not just some bloke able to talk about cars (that would be boring). The main bit will be who are the supporting characters, highly likely to include 1 Doris. |

And the final nail in the coffin, according to what I just read, is James and Hammond giving the BBC their final "fuck off". They will not be back without Clarkson. Good for them.

WOW, I knew he only signed on for a few movies for Marvel.
Good to know at least he has the BBC to fall back on.... Oh..... wait you meant that other Chris Evans.

Chris Evens made a hash of his last telly job, he's better when you can hear him but not see him. I guess it all depends on who you pair him up with.

Only ever bothered watching for the three bozos. TG-US was a sham, and I doubt the new cast/BBC continuation will be any better.

I will give it a shot, not too much for me to lose either. If it is better than my other option at the time I will probably continue to watch it. Doesn't have to be the best show ever just good enough to knock off the worst thing I watch now.

In a recent interview Clarkson said BBC offered him the job back. He turned them down. New show with May and Hammond will be announced within weeks.

I hope it is more like Fifth Gear myself.
The fake-ass little movie things they did were crap. |
