Ah, I'm not alone in seeing that the rear end of the Msport is not so great.
In profile the Msport rear seems a bit too extended. The front looks great, the rear doesn't match up as well. I'm sure it'll grow on me, not literally I hope. The rear end stopped me from buying my car as an M sport. I also prefer the red trimmed balck seats of the sportline but would have been able to live with that. Picky Picky Picky. PS..I did see the M-6 steering wheel today when I brought my 135 in for the per-lease return inspection. It looks and feels great. Sorry to report..not as thick as the 135 M steering wheel. |

Yes, i agree with BMWCali:
the M-Sport Steering wheel is the single most prettiest/most beautiful thing out of that M-Sport F30 package ! If we didn't have to wait for the M-Sport to be made available so long... i would also have purchase the M-Sport Tanzanite 335i 6MT instead of my Luxury! but i just couldn't wait! .... and i am still waiting noneless...

I am. I love the M-Sport steering wheel. It's like an updated version of the E30 M-Tech wheel.

Tell you what... when we swap wheels, maybe we can swap steering wheels too. I think I'll probably get the M6 steering wheel so if you give me $300 or so (will have to see how much the M Sport wheel goes for by itself and I'll discount it for you), I'll give you the steering wheel, too. You'll just need to buy the airbag module for it. |

because you're gonna swap it onto your M6 steering? who much would the airbag module be, do you know? Looks like we're gonna make my trip/our meeting in SB worthwhile great ideas you got there It's on a truck somewhere in SoCal, heading for my dealership... Tuesday for sure i will get the car... few more days.... i have been deceiving myself for so many weeks already... initially i had hoped for the 23 of June, then said 27th of June, i was hoping (so i could drive it to San Diego with my girlfriend see the "Beatles") wrong, we ended up driving her RX330. so i was crossing my fingers for the 3rd of July (so i could show it off to my friends) nothing, and now everyone thinks i am a liar and a wannabe show off... still i was really expecting for tomorrow th 7th of July... but having called earlier today, My dealership still doesn't have it... they said early next week Another weekend doing nothing It's been three weekend of let down EDIT: BY the way BMWCali do you know if the steering wheel would have the +/- paddle shift ? if so, i wonder if i can wire them for some other functions, since i have a MT? LOL your evil look is contagious BMWCali

Not sure. It's expensive though. The airbag usually costs more than the steering wheel. See if you can find out... ask your dealer's parts department how much the M Sport steering wheel airbag module is. If you are a BMW CCA member, you get 15% I think off that price. Let us know how much they say. Also, while you're at it, find out how much the M Sport steering wheel is with the paddle shifters but without the airbag.

Tell us how that goes. Probably gonna be a super expensive swap ($1000+) because the airbag is different I believe.
I have talked to a CA about the price for msport steering wheel, here in Canada, it's about $800. But not sure how much labor it's gonna cost. We will see when it comes out |

However they did not have a sportline car around, so everything was from memory. I DO think it was thicker than sportline..to what degreee, can't say. I have small hands and love the 135 wheel but it is a bit too thick for me. I am OK with OEM sportline wheel though I do prefer the M sport aesthetically and a nicer leather and the nice little M logo at the bottom. If I can swap em out for not crazy coin, I will. If not, no biggie. On my 911 I had to do the swap. The OEM wheel was waaay too thin. That rape was $1200. w/o airbag. They are very proud of their work. |

I can understand falling in love with a steering wheel as I feel my GTIs steering wheel is by far the best I've owned. On looking into the autocarbon steering wheel for my new f30. Nice and thick with the flat bottom similar to my GTI.

I have stared at that wheel for far too long when I was deciding between sport & M Sport and I just don't like it. Maybe need to see it in person first.

That butt stopped me from going M sport. Unfortunately, where I park at work car, I look at the back of the car all the time. Maybe I should have gone M sport and bought a giant paper bag with cutouts for the brake lights. Who came up w/ that design ??? |
