New F31 340i Order - BMW finance question
Hello,
I've been a long time lurker and have avidly followed any thread regarding 340i's and 335d's especially tourings! I came close to buying a 330d Touring in 2013. I have just ordered a fairly lightly specced F31 340i M Sport Touring. I test drove both 335d and 340i and whilst the 335d was a great drive, the 340i just tugged at my emotional side. My head kept saying 335d but my heart overruled on this occasion. One question with regards to BMW finance. I managed to negotiate exactly 25% off including a BMW finance contribution of £2250. When I reviewed all my paperwork I can see the discount on the order form (less £2250) but the finance quote has no mention of the £2250 and just states a total deposit figure of £7250. I challenged the dealer and with difficulty managed to get them to add a note to the order form stating 'Deposit Contribution £2250, Customer Deposit £5000'; has anyone experienced this before? The dealer stated that they have never been asked to add it to the paperwork before...sounds like bullshit to me. Apart from that I'm exceptional happy with the deal especially as it's £322 per month with £5K down! Chris |

That's a great deal. I think my paperwork was like yours. So don't worry. But good idea to get it confirmed in writing.
Sounds like you have a great car coming!!!! |

Strangely enough, I got a quote today from C2C for a F31 340i. Again, just under 25% off but would be an extra £1500 if I pay cash. Will probably order in May. I just feel like a change back to petrol.

This is correct - you'll see the finance contribution on the finance quote/invoice but not on the dealer order. Seems a bit odd but I've never had an issue.

My basic spec is: ZIC Interior Comfort Package 320 Windscreen with grey shade band 417 Sunblinds - rear side windows (I'm not a fan of tinted glass) 430 Ext. mirrors - folding, auto dimming 5DC Head restraints, rear and folding I'm going back to test drive an LCI with standard M-Sport suspension as both of my loan cars had adaptive. I test drove a 330d in 2013 and was just so on standard suspension. |

Absolute bargain. To put this into context, in 1998 I brought a new BMW 318is Coupe for £21500 which if you use the Bank of England inflation calculator equals £34975 in today's money
I definitely think quality has slipped with each generation - they are built down to a price now. I currently have a mint 2007 E91 which feels better built than the F31. |

I agree the e90 series was better put together than the F30 series, but you can't argue with the price or power on offer with the 340i
Congrats on the car.

My dealer was really good. I only wanted to put £500 in so we worked the figures out on a £500 deposit. The discount agreed (which was a bit better than coast2coast) gave me a monthly figure I was happy with. I then wanted him to throw in GAP and my plate transfer. He used the deposit I paid to buy the gap £250 and transfer the plate £80 with the remaining going in as a deposit. This reduced my deposit so he discounted the car further to accommodate this. All the figures tally up apart from the deposit contribution from BMW finance. I question him and he confirmed in writing that the additional monies to keep the monthly payments as agreed would not come from me. A mix up a few days before collection on the settlement figure for my car (it had reduced due to missing Jan 1st dead line) resulted in me getting a £300 cheque from the dealer on collection day. We bought our Mini Cooper S from them in September 2015 and they were equally as good.
Great choice of car OP.... |
