Is the front floor carpet replaceable? Help!
Guys I really need some help here! Wife took the car to the store and on her way home, long story short, she somehow spilled some really strong detergent on the front passenger floor! It ruined the mat and spilled onto the actual carpet floor which also got damaged.
Now the car stinks of detergent and my carpet is totally ruined. Is it possible to replace it??? |

Anything can be replaced, but a steam carpet cleaning should be sufficient. Next up on your list of things to get should be a set of WeatherTech floor liners. You need to replace the bad mat anyway, and WeatherTech is far superior.

Everything's replaceable, but it looks like a dashboard out job: http://www.etk.cc/bmw/EN/search/sele...CE/51/51_8546/

I have removed carpet from several cars over the years...my only BMW experience was with an E36 M3. It is a bigger job then you probably think. Removing all the seats, seat rails, consoles and trim pieces takes lots of time. Then once you get everything out, the carpet is heavy and a pain to remove. Usually there is foam attached to the back of the carpet for sound insolation. The piece of carpet plus foam is a heavy awkward thing to move. Not fun and I only ever removed the carpet. It was prepping a track car so no
carpet was put back in. Give the carpet a steam clean and get new floor mats. The smell should come out...might take a few treatments. |
