Plasti Dipping wheels

I had the idea of plasti dipping the wheels on my jet black F30 with a grey color, gun metal is probably more specific, what do you guys think?

Have any of you done any work similar to this?

Any tips or suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Do one side and drive it like that for a few days.
If you don't like it, peel it off and go black.

Plenty of members on the forum have done this. May want to do a search to see what kind of tips you can find.

Do it...its one of the cheapest changes you can make and if you dont like it, peel it off. I love mine and will see how they hold up through a NY winter now!

I have been thinking about doing the vintage gold you can get from dipyourcar.com. I think it could look really good on a black car.

I did my VRM's with matte black pasti dip came out great. I had AW 328i with it and it was perfect. Going to do it to the new car just haven't go around to it. If you do it right it should last with no problems and for the price you pay it's like $30 for the wheel kits depending if you glossy black or matte.

Did you ever dip your wheels? I went with Anthracite Grey on my black sapphire and I'm pretty happy with it.

No, I have not had a chance to dip them. I might be trading it in for a 535i very soon so I am putting a hold off on the mods.

Only suggestion would be to make sure you remove and clean the shit out of the wheels before you dip, and watch all of Fonzie's youtube videos to get the technique down.

Yes, you can leave the wheels on your car but the prep work of taping to avoid overspray is a pain in the ass and is not perfect. Results will be much cleaner if you take the wheels off. Here's my old 320i.

I traded it in with the wheels dipped and they didn't care at all, it peels right off.

I have always wondered......Do you need to remove tires to complete?

I would definitely pull off car first....also any special prep materials other than soap and water?
