Decat stock downpipe
Dont shoot me down fo saying this. More curious than anything but can you decat/gut out the stock downpipes.
In theory this should perform close to any aftermarket. Plus you know you get 100% fitment |

Hope so, as I did
Purchased one from internet, so kept the original - so when sold its stock. May not be as efficient as a custom one - bit boomy when cold - but I get 310+ BHP

You cannot sell your car with decat downpipe, you need the stock one. stock downpipes are very expensive so it would not make any sense to decat DP now then buy stock one couple years later when you need to sell your car. By the way trusted aftermarket downpipes have 100% fitment as well As far as performance, should be close although air flow will not as good as a true catless

From cost point yeah agree. I would have thought there be wrecks around and u could get a stock dp less than 200us. From a gutting point of view maybe the guy that did it can shed some light

Since I have an E89, tried two different downpipes - did not fit - so went to an scap yard and purchased one from there - and kept the original for when I sell the car.
Performance may not as good as a performance as there will be turbalance in the chamber - but looking at it looks stock

you would have to look at the design of the stock downpipe to decide for certain if performance will be similar
if you plan to sell the car stock, you will have to find a stock downpipe anyway. may as well just go for an aftermarket downpipe. |
