But i think the price of the options really do depend on the car you are buying. Makes sense that the luxury line is a bigger stretch for a 320i versus 328i because the 328i already comes with real cow hide than the sensatec leather.

However, i dont doubt that there are options packages that redbook may not cover. Pity my dealer didnt mention any... But i was not after many options anyway i suppose.

Black I think that you will get the 4k discount either way , that has nothing to do with sales price negotiations. Like someone mentioned before the best alternative is to probably go through a fleet and see if they can obtain u a good deal as for the most part they have more pull.

I visited the dealership this morning and saw another model compared to my previous luxury 328i quote and really focused on this model.

328i
Black Sapphire
Sports line
Aluminium trim
Coral accent
Sunroof
Xenon lights
Voice controls

Price originally 84K but after corporate discount 79K drive away with 4 yr free servicing etc..

Redbook quotes 84.4K with same options.

Keeping in mind the higher stamp duty costs in WA, does this seem reasonable?

He was also trying to sell me a 328i with M sports kit but no other options for exactly the same price. Pity it did not have xenon lights or sunroof otherwise I would have considered it more seriously.

No go for the M sport, unless its a lease. No one will pay up for a car with no xenon nor sunroof in a few years time. As for 79K drive away... i am very sure u can get a better price interstate. I went the interstate route and I had the car delivered to my front door and for cheaper.

Thanks. My thoughts exactly with the M-sport without any options.

I'll call up a QLD dealer on Monday and compare prices. I bought my last E90 from Qld when I used to work there. So much more variety in the eastern states and cheaper too

Which state did you order from Tra08R?

M Sports with No Options is going to be a tough resell. If its M sports without any options should be starting negotiations at about 75-76k throw corporate disc on that and get like 70?

Tra08r- I nvr had issues selling 2 cars without sunroof though

Yes. If Blackfan has the time and patience for this route, I agree he should take it. No one is restricted to buying from their local or even State's (territory's as well) Dealer. Blackfan, I read you have first hand experience anyway, so you won't have any problems.

Now is a great time to shop around for a few weeks or so. Great savings to be had with patience.
Cheers

I like the interstate option. I was considering canberra if all sydney dealers, gosford, woolongong didnt work out.

However, had no idea i could go interstate. So what happens? A truck just shows up in front of the house and unloads? That would be soo wicked! Esp for those nosey neighbours!

Try the country dealers, they're used to dealing with people over the phone and have had a decent amount of experience in selling to people in the city. That's the route I did with mine, ended up getting about 8-9k off rrp onroad (and the rrp dealer delivery was only $2700, so it wasn't an inflated inital price on here either)

So what will happen here is the dealer will look for stock they have interstate that matches your criterias. Deliver it to that dealer and u can pick it up there or get it delivered.

Just be careful to check the car thoroughly. So much transportation = paint damage, which I am quite pedantic about

Another thing to keep an eye out for on a quote (which I picked up on mine and saved a couple of $k's), is they quote you for leather seats and you pick up a line like luxury (which includes leather) and you end up paying for it twice.

Try canberra and Melb as well. Yes a truck shows up and unloads the car onto the side walk..., It was very wicked, one of my neighbours saw it and was like 'Woah" half impressed, half 'is it necessary' kinda look. But he only drives the current WRX sti. Other neighbours Audi A4 convertible, C63 AMG, Carrera 911 they wont even blink had they saw it.

Strategy is to get a rate quoted through a leasing company then negotiate terms of floor stock vs non floor stock

10% off RRP for floor stock is a very low discount considering dealer quoted RRP is something ridiculous, usually 90k+ for a 135i.

Which means he paid 81k+, about 5-10k more than what he could have paid depending on the options.

Don't use his 'great deal' experience as a gauge of what is a good price for floor stock.

Sorry what we talking about agian? I'm missing something here. He paid 125 M Sport 50-55k can't remember early 50's for a 60k something rrp

I'm not suggesting that it is the best price, it's a method of getting a better deal

I've always been able to get a good deal on our f30 and f10 doesnt really bother me

Early 50s for early 60s is more than 15% discount, significantly different from 10%.

Looks like it doesnt it, it's kinda hard to provide pretty spot on number if you're not the one buying the car only being able to convey what information is being handed over. If i wanted to give specific examples i could say that i got 8 k Aud of rrp for my f30 and 12k of RRP for my f10 .

Well I've done a complete backflip and went for the 320d instead. Mineral grey
Sports line
18 inch wheels
Business sat nav
Xenons
Sunroof

76k drive away

Redbook quotes just under 80k

Keeping in mind the monopoly and higher fees in Perth I thought I had a good deal however with further consideration the price could have been a lot lower given the current 4k promotion on diesels and fleet discount. No point crying over spilt milk and time to enjoy.

Congrats.

If you have already signed for the purchase, then it is time to forget about the price and look forward to the pick up.

+1. You have done well for a monopoly market!

Good on you for sharing your drive away price.

Now begins the wait and looking up your status on Webetk and w&w.
