F30 M Sport and Leatherette

Thinking of pulling the trigger on a new 2013 335 M Sport, but wanted to make sure that I will still get the sport seats when I option for the leatherette.

Anyone can confirm this? Actual pictures with leatherette sport seats would be great and much appreciate it.

Yes, you can get leatherette on the sport seats.
It's an excellent and very durable material.

Msport comes with sport seats, covered in leather or leatherette, for the US/NA market.

Go to bmwusa.com and click under the "3", and select "build your own".
You can see the interior and seat shots of the sport seats with leatherette.

I had BMW sport seats with leatherette at one point.

If you ever get hot when you walk, stand, sleep, sit, or breathe.. prepare to sweat pretty bad in them. Especially in an Atlanta summer.

Just a heads up so you can justify if it's worth the $1,450 savings.

I kind of disagree with you. I actually like them better then my leather seats in my M3.Also they are very durable. JMO

I've had leatherette seats before, just not BMW sports seats, and when they got hot it was the same as my leather seats getting hot.
The only difference was the shape the seats were in, even after carefully maintaining my leather seats with Zaino.

The leather seats looked wrinkled and old after 2 years of daily use, where the leatherette seats looked brand new after 10 years of use and no care.

^^ This. The 'ette takes a lot of flack for its presence in a "luxury" car, but that stuff is DURABLE! Some day there will be nothing left but cockroaches lounging on leatherette seats!

As you can see from the screenshot while building an M-Sport 335i, leatherette and sport seats are possible.

To each his own. I had a 330i with ette and didn't like it. Durability is good but all to often had clammy damp moisture in the seating position. Leather provides a bit more breathability. Albeit not by much but definitely a difference.

I must sweat a lot Some people have the issue, others don't. Just my personal experience though so not a generalization.. But it was really really bad. I remember being pretty upset about having them on occasion.

As a comparo - In the same climate/situation (Chicago), My M3 with Black Novillo Extended leather was the best leather I've ever had. It breathes amazingly, smells wonderful, and the feel is excellent.

I am glad to see that the ette works out for some. I wish I could save the $1500, I would if I could.

I recall reading that M cars get a leather that is treated differently, and that allows it to "breathe" better.
The leather base leather used in the 1 and 2 series is "coated' with something?
And that is why it too doesn't breathe so well as other leathers.
This coating is supposed to make the leather firmer and more durable.

This could be true. I shopped for used E46 M3's back in 09, and pretty much every single one of them has very used and worn looking leather even on low mileage 2 year old M3's.
I was like WTF? These are awesome to drive, but damn the seats, mainly drivers, look bad. They do have a different feel, softer, but don't feel as durable as regular 3 series leather or leatherette.

I had leatherette and really liked it in the E46.
It looked as new as the first day I got it.
It has a unique "rubbery" feel to it that I liked.
One day I went on a drive with a buddy, and he was checking out the seats.
He said he liked them, sport seats. Then he goes, "Wait, is this leather?"
I told him it wasn't. He then gets a bit PO'd and goes, "WTF, I thought it was leather! Why didn't you tell me it wasn't leather?"
He got made cause he was fooled. I never said it was leather in the first place. It's the first time he asked me.
Goes to show it's a nice material and you really have to take notice to see it's not leather.

My 335 has leatherette. My 328 has leather. I can't tell a difference in terms of "breathability." The only real difference I can tell is the feeling of the steering wheel.

Went with the ette on my F30 335. With the MY13 changes on the base adding dimming and power seats, premium package has become a waste for the 335 Sport/M Sport lines. (My opinion)

What are you feeling with the steering wheel?

Strange, because the steering wheels are still covered in leather even if the seats are leatherette.
Even my E46 325i, which had leatherette, it had a leather covered sports steering wheel.

Maybe the 2011s were just made with a thicker, more supple steering wheel. My 07 335's steering wheel is very thin.

Am I seeing from this screen shot that apparently Msport package now includes adaptive m suspension? Did I totally miss the boat on that announcement of what? That's cool ... finally

If you don't have sport pkg the wheel is thinner. My 07 sport wheel was thicker than my fathers 08 non sport. That may be why. But they are all leather
