GP Thunder 5800K Super White Xenon work great so far

My f30 came with shitty halogens, so I decided to upgrade the bulbs.
Found them on Ebay. No error codes. Still pending to receive error-free LEDs for DRLs that I recently ordered. Parking lamps still OEM and have not been replaced yet.

Oem vs GP Thunders

Final Result, still pending a night shot. (They look super white inside my closed garage)

I've... was looking at these or the Philips.

Have you tested at night to see if they give stronger light coverage over the standard? Rather than whiter light.

Cheers.

I'll see tonight. I'm pretty sure they'll give better coverage since our standard halogens are some of the worst oem ever. Sucks bmw cheaped out on what should be luxury everything.

Those are 55w halogen bulbs, tinted blue to give a whiter appearance, but no brighter than stock. They don't throw codes or blink because they're still halogen bulbs.

Thanks, that's what I thought. Waiting on some Depos and wondered whether to go with these (yes the depos are projector so better from that perspective). I know you changed to hids.

Upgrade from halogens to LED or HID when you install the Depos.

Billfitz has a good write up to follow.

BMW has some of the worst rated halogens on the market out of all the major manufacturers.

They seriously dropped the ball without making it standard HID's.

Maybe in the course of time. For now I want the improved visibility at night. Don't want to deal with coding and I am not installing.

Cheap and supereasy.............and those halogens wont improve your night visibility.

http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=138579

Easier than Esys.....and has the ability to code like Esys.

Here are some night shots. I can definitely say while driving that I can see further down the road and have a wider lighted path compared to the shitty OEM halogen bulbs. Not bad for $11 dollar bulbs compared to the what $40? for the phillips ones?

Fogs OFF

Fogs ON

Whiter, yes. That can help with visibility. Brighter, no, and the beam pattern is determined by the lamp, not the bulb. They call them zenon, but they also say that they're plasma, and HID. They aren't.

Don't want to - I have used Carly. Really just don't want to mess around with the units... I have a E93 with adaptive Xenons so well aware of how much better the F31 can be.

Thanks, yes I read about some Ring bulbs in BMW Car magazine and know the halogen plus some xenon gas bulb. Really I am looking to improve my standard lights with the Depo projectors. If a bulb can assist further then I am in.

I read you write up on the HIDs and I am just not confident enough to make those changes... I know my limits

Cheers.
