Are people getting pissed because his spoiler is trash? Is that why there are dumb fucking comments here? Look at dudes time and rep on here, obviously been around for a while!

Toss some suggestions on how to fix the damn thing, recommend a vendor you used or keep it moving.

Only here.....smh

Sand the clear, leave it raw, or peel it and pint it. Fuck it. At least you didn't pay full rape retail!

Believe it or not I hear more good stories about shit off eBay than bad! You think all good or oem parts are made in Europe? Lol. Everything is made in China l! Lol
Dude, chill.

Occam’s Razor. The simplist answer is most often correct.

You didn’t state you confirmed authentic part. In fact, everything you posted from lack of documentation etc point to the opposite.

If you don’t post all the facts, don’t get mad when some one attempts to answer your question.

We don’t have ESP. Neither do you or you wouldn’t have purchased the spoiler.

Nobody's not chill, you're sitting here tying to give cf life lessons on what percentage of price people should pay and ask for on here! Lol. I'm not mad at your statement, like the original intent....suggest vendors that we're good, suggest an m4 rep that fits well, or suggest what I should do with mine.

It's all good man

Yes, people should learn from mistakes posted on forum.

It shouldn’t be one way.

Yea the chips are easy to fix.. the crack are a real.. bitch
Hard to tell if the cracks go all the way down to the CF
but if they dont it may be easier to machine them out and resurface that area
personally I would go with a spoiler that matches your stock color tho
never did like CF spoilers

I was thinking of that too, then again my car is 4 years old, wondering how a paint match would look.

I'm pretty sure the cracks go all the way down to the cf. the first body shop that looked at it said there's no guarantee they could re-clear it, fill cracks or if they painted it....no guarantee that cracks wouldn't show.

I think I have to sand it down to raw then either leave it like that, clear it, or paint it.

If your gonna fix it and it will be a bitch for people who do it once in a while
I remember ripping my hand open a couple times doing it last time
sanding it w/o sander is a lesson in patience I dont have
and if its too deep you risk damaging / scratching the CF which defeats the purpose
I usually pick off the crack area carefully creating valleys where the cracks are and fill in with epoxy, sand with high grit and polish and turns out great but its alot of effort

Much worse and more extensive than I would have even imagined from your OP.

If this was typical, we would see many people howling.

Something VERY strange and out of the ordinary is going on there.

What I thought was chips looks more like separation as well
which may mean water seeped thru the epoxy coat in along the edges
and faint cracks running seemingly shallow
Ive never seen a CF spoiler piece before in person.. are they CF wrapped over a solid piece of ABS? I would think so
tough salvage

How was the spoiler mounted, by you and original owner?

This is out of the ordinary. You just got a bad one. Had one for 3 Years that gets covered in salt and everything else. It's pristine.

I’m going to speculate that this spoiler was damaged (cracked) under stress of uninstall from original owner. Or weakened the structure enough that cracks grew under pressure put on spoiler of reinstalled car. Most likely small cracks that could not really be noticed at sale. Pressure on spoiler caused cracks to grow.

Could cracks have allowed enough moisture in that dripped down with gravity to lower edge?

Total speculation, but best educated guess after seeing damage.

Yeah this is my best guess as well, I inspected this piece in my garage, nothing crazy under a magnifying glass or anything but it looked good....sanded lightly underneath, cleaned it up with a adhesive promoter, stuck thin 3m spoiler tape to it, lined it up and pressed it lightly to fit.

Completely by the book.

The only thing I can assume is that there was some type of clear coat cracking, maybe through the weather changing that made it worse and then it got like that? The day I noticed it, my car was at just the right angle in the sun and I was like wtf? You have to be looking for it to see it.

The peeling is getting worse all along that edge. It's absolutely ridiculous

Original owner did not go into detail on how it was mounted, simply said it was "installed and removed carefully". I don't know what else could have caused this

I would recommend Karbonius Composites from Spain for any CF products, they make incredible interior and exterior plus performance components.

Is there a date of manufacture on the spoiler?

Would be interesting to see if there was a bad run.

I didn't read every post on here but OP did you contact the guy you got it from? Assuming he got from BMW perhaps he could help you out and get it replaced. They don't need to know that he sold it.

Obviously would be doing you a favor but never hurts to ask nicely. I wouldn't have a problem helping someone I did a good faith deal with.
