I'm thinking of completely bailing on my order hoping 335i EB ll cars will become more available in the coming weeks. I just can't take this waiting game anymore. What do you think ?? My target market is Los Angeles..A big market??

You might be in LA, but 335i cars are still rare. The chances of an EBII model just "showing up" seems slim to none, IME. You can't wait 5 more weeks for a car that's already guaranteed for you? |

I'm a purchase guy too but with lease rates sub 3%, why buy? Buy after the lease.

Hey, I hope everyone gets their cars ASAP. Just seems like expectations weren't set right? Still, waiting a few extra weeks for something your spending $60K on, and going to have for a several years doesn't seem like that much of an inconvenience. |

I dont think the system would be updated that quick. I cant remember your finish date but i am sure it was after mine on 11/06. I didn't make the 11/16 boat and i think there is someone that has an earlier finish date who didn't make it either. Even if we get on the 11/21 boat i dont think it will make it before end of year.

^^^ Eljefe I'm in Texas too and my car has been at port since 11/14 according to my CA. You don't think we will have our cars before the end of the year?? Even if they leave 11/21 or 11/23 or 11/26?

I find 25 EBII 335's on dealer lots nationwide according to cars.com. Most of them look to have the sport auto and be pretty decked out (premium/nav/driver assist/HK/cold weather). The dynamic handling appears less prevalent (although maybe not needed on 335i). BMW San Francisco has 3 335i's in EBII, so maybe they'll bargain with you?
If you are flexible with the AT and xdrive, I imagine you can find one relatively close (ie within 500 miles lol). If it was me, I'd really only be OK getting MORE options than I originally wanted (would hate myself if every day I asked "what if"), so it would boil down to being able to find/negotiate a price you can live with... It seems like the real downer is the uncertainty rather than the wait, but rest assured it will eventually make it *exactly* to your spec

My car is in the Paint Shop today, with an estimated completion date of tomorrow
What I don't understand: when I toured the Munich factory, all the cars (shells, really) get painted ahead of time, and put in this big bay for later use. When you order a particular color car, a robot comes and gets that color out of a holding slot, then the building process starts. The painted cars don't appear to be assigned to a VIN. Which makes sense, as these shells would be identical for all cars, save for the moonroof option. I believe the bumpers are painted separately. So, the day before a car is ready, it appears they're finishing up electronics and interior installation. Not painting anything. |

^^^ Letting some more time lapse and hopefully I am on a boat by the end of the month, my CA has been really good with updates so I'm not going to waste his time asking questions at this point.

Well guys, it looks like both the WW ship Turandot and the K-line ship California Highway are both docked in Bremerhaven currently and will leave in a few hours. Both are headed for the East Coast which include stops in Brunswick, Ga which is where my care will come into the country. Both ships have a car carrying capacity well in excess of 5000 cars. I hope all of those with cars waiting at the port make either one of these boats. The K line ship makes it over a few days quicker. I scanned the satellite feed to look at the cars, I could swear I see a few Estoril blue f30s in the lot adjacent to the ships. It is difficult to see clearly though once you zoom in close. I guess we will all know within a couple days if we made either ship.

Me too, at least based on the phone number status. (I tried my VIN on both sites late last night as well, and no dice.)
My vehicle's been at the port for eight days now, I wonder if they're that backed up at Bremerhaven, or if there's some kind of prioritization as to which cars get on board? One poster mentioned (perhaps jokingly) that customer sold cars may be getting de-prioritized at the port so that BMW can fill the dealer channel(!) As for me, I'm planning on doing a PCD pick-up in the first half of January and starting to get a little nervous. If I don't make the next ship, car may not arrive in time for me to keep my appointment! I wonder if their ship scheduling is so advanced that they factor that in and that's why mine hasn't yet shipped? |
