If I decide to cut the 320i rear diffuser, do you know how is the best way to do it?

Do you have any place that I can find the exhaust? I've seen some at ebay but I don't know if that price is right...

thanks a lot!
Interested as well. I have a 320 sport which uses a standard bumper. It appears that the exhaust notch needs to be cut or rear bumper and diffuser swapped. True?

Been waiting to see if this thread gets updated. My car is built but not on a boat yet so I have some time. Was looking for an exhaust just for the looks and sound. Not looking to go too crazy. Had a Magnaflow on my e39 528i which was an automatic and was happy w/ it. Brand doesn't matter too much, just don't want too much drone inside and I have to get rid of that silly looking single exhaust pipe out the back. Would've preferred if it was hidden under the bumper cover. Also, I couldn't find a definitive answer in the threads I searched but is the diffuser on a non-msport a seperate piece on a 328? If it is I would just get that and do a carbon fiber wrap over it. Everything seems to be geared to having the m-sport bumpers.

Hi Jcastle,

Seriously thinking of caring out the conversion you have done, I already have the adapter, £23 deliverd in the UK.

Just wondered what your feelings are now some months after the installation. Are there any negatives/positives.

I would be grateful for some feedback.

Cheers

I would say it is definitely something to go for. I've been very happy I did it.

The 320i is really quiet as standard and the M Perf. exhaust definitely brings some sound to it. I also think the twin-pipe should be standard so that's a bonus.

I can't really think anything negative about it. I quess the only thing is that it's maybe even too quiet once you get used to it

I have been thinking about putting the front and middle pipe to get a bit more sound, probable from Supersprint but haven't yet gotten into it.

Not boomy - I don't think it is any different in motorway speeds, at least not on the inside.

If you do go with the supersprint let us know how you like it. I've been thinking about going that route myself.

jcastle could you explain how you removed all the electronics and welded the nut? (what nut? Picture if possible?)

"You can do the DIY - Exhaust flap mod (Golf Tee) or just remove the whole thing. I ended up removing the electronics and welded the nut so that the flap is always open."

We have a F36 420i at home, and we want to place the performance exhaust as well, like you did. Before buying the parts i would like to know all the details how you did it.

What are your findings since you placed it? Are you happy with it? Loud or would you still want it louder?

Thanks in advance!

PS. Sorry for my novice english, i'm dutch

An exhaust shop will be able to modify the piping to suit the bigger diameter of the 328i muffler pretty easily (without having to use a flange). I recently got my 328i muffler removed by a shop so it's for sale if anyone is interested.

Question.

Do you guys know if the exhaust mounting point/hangers are all the same on the f30 chassis? I really want to run a factory 335i exhaust on my 320i, but I am leasing and do not want to cut or weld anything. Just use an adapter to connect the two different diameters.

Hi, I was wondering are there any power loss at low rpms after installing the exhaust? since it is for 328/330, though the engine displacement is the same... I have an 320 LCI and was thinking about getting the mpe for it. Thanks!

So to wrap it up. The BMW Performance exhaust is the best sounding- and most giving axle back exhaust for 320i?

I didn't think the M Performance Exhaust was available for the 320i...at least for 2015 and before for US models. But I could be wrong and would love it if I was.

Amazingly, switching to comfort or eco will really tame the sound.

I am going to buy the catback system for the 328I and that should bolt on fine although I want the 335I backbox.
I have already got a mishimoto intake and had a remap done and now I would like some noise from the exhaust.
