Strange Noise 2012 335i

I also heard this noise on a 135i (w/ n55) that I saw. Every so often there is also rumbling that can be felt in the car and heard from the exhaust.

In the picture you can see some sort of soot? Or carbon that was found right below the exhaust.

It’s been a few n55 cars that I see having these, what is the issue? Wastegate rattle?

Waste gate rattle would sound like loose pennies, mine comes and goes which I believe is partially managed by my MHD tune, they're supposed to increase pressure based on mileage (I'm at 88k). Mine is still audible at times but doesn't sound like this.
