Hi,

I own a 2013 320i and I would like to upgrade the exhaust, I know it's a stupid question but would a better exhaust system improve the performance in any way?

Depends. U thinking turbo back, if so yes because that replaces the stock down pipe. If no, then I be spending my money on a tune or down pipe or both

The stock down pipe is pretty restrictive vs an aftermarket one. A turbo-back exhaust will replace the stock down pipe, so yes. Your noticeable gains will be from replacing the down pipe portion though.

Yes from what I have read on this forum. Do a search on catless down pipes and I am sure you will come across some dyno charts.

If you really want power then go for a tune. Best bang for buck
