Is the ecu that encrypted that there are still no portable devices to plug into the obd ii? Such as the blue fin?

I cannot make it to Evolve in the week so thinking of an alternative tuner to go to on the weekend.

Contacted Surrey Rolling Road who put me in touch with Simon from emaps. Waiting for a reply.

Doubt Simon will talk to me because I arranged a group buy a few years ago and lots of people pulled out on the E9X forum as they could not agree on a location in the end. Not my fault.

So we will see but ideally I wanted to connect my own device and upload and remove as required.

Looked into this some time ago as Fat Kid 1 had his Focus St done by suoerchips.

They supplied a Bluefin device which I thought was great. You could put any map on the car ie standard or enhanced. You could even remove all maps and brick the car -great for security whilst on hols etc.

Unfortunately no one seemed to do one for the f30 - you couldn’t even get the bluefin handset to work even if superchips did their work.

Would be great if someone did.

Ps if Simon can I’d be in for it as well. He’s relatively local to me.

I believe all remaps require the ECU to be opened. BW Chiptune seem to have a good rep over on the Baby BMW forum
